The Daring Billionaire’s Wife novel (Vanessa and Dominic) novel Chapter 151

Dominic

Stroking my chin with narrowed eyes, I say, "I'm genuinely curious. What date are you talking about?"

Carmella scoffs, looking confused. "I just told you - our date is in two hours."

"What makes you think that after everything you've done here, I want to sit across from you so we can have a meal together? Does that sound right in your head?"

"There's no way you're about to do this shit to me. You promised!"

"Did I?"

"Ugh! The first thing you did when you returned from that trip was go to that orphanage and hospital to spend time with those fucking kids! This was supposed to be dedicated to me and now you want to act like it's not happening?"

"Because it's not." I rub my temples, irritated. "You know what? That's it."

"What?"

"During the past three weeks, I've been thinking a lot. So many things have changed and I've decided that I'm not doing this anymore."

"What?" She chuckles in disbelief, her glare threatening. "You didn't just say that to me."

"Just so you're certain of what I said, I'll repeat it. I'm not doing this anymore."

She grits her teeth. "Don't fucking play that game with me. You know exactly what's going to happen if you-"

"Go ahead and do it." I lean back in my seat with a blank expression.

"You're wrong if you think this is going to be like the last time when I couldn't bring myself to expose everything just because I didn't want to completely lose you. What's the point when you don't even want me? I'm definitely doing it this time!"

"Is something blocking your ears? I told you to do it, so go ahead."

Breathing hard, she takes out her phone and begins typing. I only glance at her as she does it, then close my eyes with a relaxed sigh.

Once she's done, she says, "And send!" She snickers in a sinister way as she looks over at me. "That's it! You're fucking done!"

I slightly raise my eyebrows as I open my eyes and scoff. "You think so?"

Seeing how calm I am, she suspiciously narrows her eyes as her smile fades. "What did you do?"

I smirk. "You seem to have lost your confidence so quickly. Why?"

"What the fuck did you do? Tell me!"

I shrug. "What makes you think I did anything? Look, I have a lot to deal with because I'm already a week late with Shane's payment. The bodyguards will get your stuff in the backseat, so just head to your car. We're done here."

"You're going to regret doing this to me once this goes viral!"

I nod lightly. "I'll be waiting. Now get out."

Furious, she opens the car door on her side, slams it after getting out, then takes off her heel and uses it to hit the window in an attempt to break it, but it's all in vain. I watch her do it a few more times with a poker face, shaking my head at how it still hurts me that she turned out this way.

I motion one of the bodyguards to come over and he collects everything she bought in the backseat, the other two just standing there as she yells at them. They did nothing wrong, but she's obviously doing it because she got no reaction from me even after exposing everything.

Closing my eyes after the bodyguard leaves, I sigh with relief, no longer having to deal with being around her. My plan worked and it took a lot of effort but thanks to Frank, I don't have to worry about my secret getting out.

Vanessa

After I explain everything to Mia, she leans against the wall, placing her hand on her chest with a heavy sigh. "Well...fuck. You and Dominic were never what you made yourselves out to be in public?"

I nod. "We weren't even close at all. It was always Carmella."

"Until he dumped her for being a mean and manipulative bitch!" She bursts into laughter, making me chuckle. "You know what? She deserves only the worst after what she said about your dad. I'm so sorry you had to hear that."

"It's okay. I feel much better now," I assure her, then smile, thinking back to Dominic's comfort.

"Good. Now, about you and Dominic. I can't believe you never used the lingerie that I gave you on your wedding night because he was fucking another woman. I have to admit something. I can usually tell when you're lying but this time, it's been different. You've been such a great actress, trying to convince everyone."

"It was one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life."

"I'm so upset with you right now that I won't talk to you for a week!" She pouts, crossing her arms.
