Dominic
I could've come to see Carmella on the night she attacked Vanessa, but at the time, she wasn't that important. I also knew she wouldn't be able to escape since we had her locked up.
Frank and I arrive at the door of the room she's in and I stop in my tracks, stretching my neck a few times just to stay calm.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asks. "You look like you're going to break her face."
"I might."
He chuckles, knowing that I don't mean it.
The security in charge pushes the door open for us and there she is, sitting on the other side of the room with messy hair, her handcuffed hands resting on the table.
She rises to her feet so she can rush to me with excitement, but security holds her down, reminding her of the rules.
Despite the warnings, Carmella turns frantic and just wants to have her way so she can come to me. It's only when the woman holds onto the gun strapped on the side of her waist that Carmella instantly calms down.
The closer I get to her, the more flashbacks I see of how she slashed Vanessa's stomach. It makes me clench my jaw so hard that Frank places his hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, maybe this isn't a good idea," he suggests.
"If I wait any longer, then maybe I'll definitely break her face."
"Hey, babe! Hey, Frank!" she says casually, her smile not fading. "You finally came to see me! Am I getting out? Can you believe that these people are still keeping me here? It must be because of your dad or something!"
Her nonchalance as she talks about it all makes me want to flip the table in front of me.
"Hasn't it yet registered in your head that you're where you belong after what you did to Vanessa?" I say to her.
She gasps, her wide eyes filled with hope. "Wait, did I actually kill her? Is that why you came here without her?"
"No, she's decided to stay home because she thought she'd break your face if she sees you. And our baby is fine."
Her smile fades and she angrily slams the table. "What the fuck? They survived?"
"That's what I just said. Maybe you should have thought about the fact that it was the wrong time for what you did. We were right next to the hospital. On the other hand, I don't expect much from you because you've never been the brightest."
She looks away for a moment, as if thinking about it and lowers her head, sighing with frustration that she didn't think about that part.
Suddenly, she faces me, her movements frantic as she says, "When are you getting me out of here?"
Frank scoffs in disbelief.
I glance at him, then back at her as I respond. "Do you really think it's that simple?"
She shrugs. "Why else would you come here to see me?"
"You tried to murder my wife in the presence of others and you think you're going to get out of here?"
She twists her face in an ugly sneer, leaning forward. "I'm getting out of here because you're going to make that happen, or I'll tell your entire family the truth. I still don't know how the fuck you did it, but you prevented me from doing it online. Even when your dad pressured me to speak up and explain to him why I called you 'baby' that day, I said nothing. You better start working on getting me out of here or I'll make sure you regret it."
Frank chuckles, then quickly covers his mouth.
She looks at him, then back at me. "What's funny?"
I poke my cheek with a smirk. "That's now just a fucking empty threat. I already told them everything."
"What? Why would you fucking tell them?" She yells, rising to her feet, but the security guard behind her presses her hand down on her shoulder and shoves her back down in her seat.
"You really can't threaten me with that," I say to her.
The corner of her mouth twitches as she breathes hard, trying so hard to come up with something that she can use against me.
Finally thinking of something, she mockingly looks right at me. "It doesn't matter if you told your family the truth. The only reason I wanted to do it was so you wouldn't get shit from what your dad promised you. I'm guessing that happened."
I calmly nod in agreement. "You're right. My dream company is now out of reach."
She sneers. "And you fucking deserve it!"
"But," I pause, raising a finger. "I'm still worth billions of dollars. I just won't have my dream company."
