Sophia also turned on her phone's flashlight and followed after Corinne. "Corinne, what should we do now?"
Corinne looked around. "We should look for anything suspicious that the culprit might've left behind."
Sophia nodded, but she then felt hopeless after looking around the dark surroundings. "But this place is huge! How are we going to finish searching in one night? Besides, the police had combed through the area this morning. I don't think we're going to find anything…"
Corinne was starting to get annoyed at Sophia. 'Didn't she think of all that before she brought me here? God, she should spend her time looking for clues instead of complaining!'
She ignored Sophia and bent down to rake through the debris to pick up something shiny. However, to her disappointment, it was only a piece of broken metal. She threw it away and continued to look around.
That bending down movement took a lot out of her since she was pregnant. Feeling she was about to lose her balance, she quickly straightened up.
It was then she heard the sound of two men talking up ahead.
"Boss, the police have sealed off this area. It doesn't matter what you dropped here; everything's gone after the explosion. We should just forget about it."
"Quit your yapping and give me the flashlight!"
As the sound of footsteps got nearer, Corinne quickly pulled Sophia to hide behind a column, which had escaped being blown apart by the explosion.
Sophia was shocked at being suddenly dragged away, but she quickly calmed down when she heard the two men talking.
"Boss, I don't think the flashlight is helping that much. We should just give up."
"You can get lost if all you do is complain!"
"Fine, I'll shut up."
It was too dark to see what the two men looked like from where Corinne was hiding. Nonetheless, she could not help but feel like she recognized their voices from somewhere.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
