The Day I Kissed An Older Man novel Chapter 2379

"Melody wanted to go and open the door for Beatrice but forgot that she had left her crutches at the entrance. As she stood up abruptly, she lost her footing and fell to the ground. The fall echoed in the quiet night, causing Beatrice's heart to skip a beat.

"Oh my, what happened? Are you hurt? Take as long as you need. I can wait. No need to rush," Beatrice called out.

Melody's knee throbbed from the hard impact. After kneeling for a few seconds, she regained her senses and managed to lift herself up.

"Grandma, I'm fine. It's just a little knock. Please hold on a moment. I'll come and open the door for you now."

Melody struggled to open the door, leaning against the wall for support.

Beatrice's heart clenched when she saw Melody's messy hair and her standing on one foot.

"Oh, my poor child! You look absolutely exhausted." Beatrice's eyes filled with tears as she gently stroked Melody's cheek. "You've lost weight. How can you lose so much weight in just a few days? It's all my fault for only visiting now. I'd have come earlier if it weren't for this cold. You must have been scared, my child."

Melody hugged Beatrice tightly, nuzzling into her neck. "Grandma, you're never late. It makes me happy whenever I get to see you!"

Melody rarely acted like this, and Beatrice patted her back to comfort her. "Come, Melody. Let's go in. It's not good to stand at the door like this."

Melody skillfully used her crutches to guide Beatrice into her dormitory. "Grandma, usually it's just me here. I forgot to prepare a pair of new slippers for you. Would these be okay?"

Beatrice nodded in agreement.
