The Day I Kissed An Older Man novel Chapter 2461

It was the first time Wendy had spoken to Melody in such a humble tone, even lowering her head that had always been held high.

"My dear sister, let's just consider this time that I made a mistake. Can you please not hold it against me? You should understand, these job opportunities are extremely precious to me. We're different. You have a backer supporting you, but I am all alone, trying to make it in the entertainment industry! Do you want to see me drowned in everyone's spit?"

Melody found Wendy's words incredibly amusing. "What do you mean I have a backer? Who told you that?"

Wendy impatiently interjected, "That's not the main point. Everyone in the industry knows that you have a wealthy man backing you. Otherwise, how could you have quickly established a studio? No company would be willing to sign you when you have so many scandals."

Although Wendy's words were somewhat harsh, they held some truth. Melody, being a newcomer in the industry, was unlikely to have her own personal studio. Especially with her numerous scandals, despite having strong evidence to refute them, most companies would be hesitant to sign an actress who could easily stir up controversy online.

"Well, what you said isn't entirely wrong," Melody admitted. "But how does all of this relate to whether or not I forgive you?"

Melody's smile widened, while Wendy seemed puzzled by her response.

"What do you mean by that?" Wendy asked.

Melody stopped smiling. When it came to the Sander family, she never had any pleasant expressions. Since she had already achieved what she wanted, she saw no reason to linger any longer. Instead of wasting her time there, she could spend it reviewing the script or watching Monica and the others perform on set.

'She can only be this cocky because she has a wealthy man backing her!' Wendy was seething with hatred. 'I would've been starring in Shaun's movie if Melody hadn't stolen my opportunity for an audition!'

"I hate you, Melody! You took everything from me, yet you dare to flaunt it in front of me? You're so pleased with yourself, but mark my words, you'll get what's coming to you!"
