The Day I Kissed An Older Man novel Chapter 2464

Melody no longer sought fairness from the Sanders, but she still harbored some resentment for the past. Wendy was so good at pretending to be innocent and pitiful in front of her parents, even though she was the bully.

In the meeting room, Melody managed to expose her facade of innocence, reclaiming a bit of justice for her past self, even though it was already too late.

"Silly girl. Why would I ever think of you like that?" Lucas rested his chin on top of Melody's head, and he sighed with compassion. "I just hope you won't keep these things from me. Tell me if there's anything you want to do. I know you can handle everything on your own, but you're not alone anymore. Sometimes, it's fine to rely on me a little, okay? I want to be needed by you."

Lucas' words deeply touched Melody. She had always felt like the one who was not needed, and she had never been chosen so resolutely before. Tears started welling up in her eyes.

Lucas cupped Melody's face when he heard her sniffle. "What's wrong? Why are you crying? Did I say something to upset you?"

Melody shook her head and leaned affectionately into Lucas' palm. "I'm not sad. I'm happy that you're here, and grateful that I met you."

Lucas smiled in return. "Yeah, meeting you is the luckiest thing for me too."

They shared a smile. Although their relationship originated from a contract, who could say it was not the best arrangement from above?

Melody and Lucas chatted for a while longer while hugging each other, until a crew member knocked on their door, prompting them to sit up straight.

"Miss Melody, Mister Shaun said there's one last scene left. Please get ready, and you can go home once the scene's done."
