Before Nicole could speak, Tina broke down in tears. She gritted her teeth and put out a tempting offer.
“I don't have any friends. If you come over and accompany me, I'll sell you the shares of Zach’s company that I'll get from the divorce!”
Tina knew that Nicole did not have a deep friendship with her.
Nicole would not come if Tina did not offer any benefits.
Sure enough, Nicole got out of bed and got dressed while she answered the phone in a polite voice, “How silly of you. As a woman, I can understand how you feel, really..." Nicole did not dress too lavishly. She chose a low-key beige long dress with a matching thin cardigan and went out the door.
When she arrived at Tina's house, she was stunned to see the extravagant style that was typical of a parvenu.
The house was so densely packed that there was no room for her to walk around.
Nicole looked closely and saw piles of cash on the table.
There was also a lot of gold jewelry.
Tina welcomed Nicole. Her eyes were red, and she sniffled. She did not put on makeup for the past two days.
"You're here! Have a seat."
The corners of Nicole’s mouth twitched. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
Tina sighed.
"No, I just want to look at you. After all, I admire you the most in the circle."
Nicole dared not think that what Tina said was a compliment.
She smiled awkwardly.
"Tina, have you talked about it with Zach? Did you decide to get a divorce?"
Tina pursed her lips, went into the bathroom to wash her face, and came out without any makeup.
"No, he doesn't agree to a divorce, so I plan to sue him."
"Okay. I didn't expect you to get a divorce.”
"I’ve been blinded by love for half my life. It's about time for me to wake up. He dared to humiliate me in public. Did he really think that I'd put up with him? Don't worry, I'll give you what I promised you. But you can’t deliberately lower the price. Since I'm getting a divorce, I'll need to use a lot of money."
Nicole raised her eyebrows and nodded understandingly.
"Don't worry. As a woman, I won’t treat you badly.”
Tina went back to the sofa ?f-;PIS: continued to pack her things.
"These are all the cash and jewelry at home, as well as some important contracts and shares. I need to tally everything.”
She frowned and looked glum.
"I suspect that b*stard already started to transfer our property. Half of our assets on the books are gone, and the company is also losing money. But my people in the company say that the company has been operating normally recently and there are no losses!”
Nicole nodded. "You have to gather some evidence. Otherwise, the divorce will be very unfavorable to you."
Tina gritted her teeth angrily. Her eyes were red.
“Of course, but I'm afraid that he'd have transferred all our property by the time we get a divorce. I haven't been keeping up with the company's affairs all these years, so Zach definitely has more say in the company.”
Just as she was talking, the doorbell rang.
Nicole looked at Tina. "Who is it?"
Tina ignored the doorbell and continued to lower her head to sort out the things.
"Who else could it be? He's been diligently admitting his fault these past two days. Did he think that I'll still believe him?"
The doorbell rang nonstop.
Nicole was surprised that Zach did not have the keys to his home.
Or rather, Tina was quick to change the lock.
Nicole chatted with Tina while she messaged Clayton without a hitch.
Tina was so busy packing that she became sweaty. She took out a few photos from the bedroom.
