Chapter 117
Olivia and William spoke in unison. Jameson was surprised by that and hurried into the elevator.
“These two were getting more and more alike in temperament. Even the way they scolded me sounded just the same.
“I’d better share this good news with Luci!” thought Jameson.
After Jameson left, only William and Olivia remained in the room.
An awkward silence fell upon them.
“William, don’t joke around like that anymore. It’s not funny.”
“You will know that I am serious, sooner or later.
“You…” Just as Olivia was about to retort, her stomach growled.
“You must be hungry. I’ll make you another pancake,” William looked at her dotingly and stroked her head before entering the elevator.
At this moment, Olivia’s heart was in a mess.
In a villa in the suburbs.
Caroline returned from Blake’s place early in the morning. Just as she opened the door, a cup flew past her face, thrown by Dean.
“Mr. Clarke, what’s going on?” After dodging the cup, Caroline carefully walked past the fragments on the ground toward
Dean.
Worrying that he might do something dangerous, she subconsciously kept a certain distance from him.
“You actually came back, huh? Where did you wander off to last night?”
“Where else could I go? I’m only working myself to death for our daughter. Why are you taking it out on me?” Caroline said with a hint of self–pity.
“Don’t mention that bitch! She went on a date with Mr. Lee yesterday and vanished. She didn’t answer the phone or text messages all night and no one knows where she is! Call her quickly and ask her to explain everything!
“I haven’t received a single cent of the investment we agreed upon yesterday!”
Dean was so angry. He had spent so many years raising her, only to feel it was all for nothing!
He had thought that he would get the investment soon, so he was too excited to sleep last night!
“Mr. Clarke, don’t worry. I’ll call Gianna right away.” Caroline knew Dean just wanted to get the investment quickly.
“Even if Gianna had a good time with Mr. Lee, she should answer the phone. How irresponsible of her!”
At this thought, Caroline immediately called Gianna.
“Sorry, the subscriber you dialed is powered off…”
Hearing this, doubts arose in Caroline’s mind.
She knew that Gianna would never turn off her phone. What was going on?
“Did you get through?” Dean asked impatiently.
Although he was angry, he still hoped that Caroline could get in touch with Gianna so that he could know when he could receive the money!
The economic troubles of the Clarke Corporation were getting worse and worse. He couldn’t wait any longer!
“Her phone is turned off… Mr. Clarke. Gianna has never turned off her phone. Do you think anything happened to her?”
Caroline held the phone and said worriedly.
“What? Her phone was turned off? She doesn’t want to give me the money, does she?” Hearing that, Dean immediately stepped forward angrily and took the phone from Caroline.
When he heard the automated voice message, he was so angry that he was about to throw the phone away. Fortunately, Caroline stopped him quickly, so she could save her phone.
This was the new phone that Blake just bought for her and she was short of money, she couldn’t afford to let Dean break it. Otherwise, Blake would be unhappy!

Chapter 117
“Mr. Clarke, don’t worry. Maybe Gianna had fun with Mr. Lee yesterday and forgot to charge the phone. And I got Mr. Lee’s phone number from Gianna the other day. Why don’t we call him?”
Seeing Dean was exasperated, Caroline quickly came up with a new idea.
“Do you think you’re the only one who has Mr. Lee’s number? I called him earlier, but he had his phone turned off too!” “Did this little bastard want to get his daughter for nothing?”
Dean thought angrily, gnashing his teeth in hatred.
“Oh! It’s connected! Mr. Lee’s phone is available!”
“Who is it? You’re ruining my sweet dreams!” Wayne finally answered the phone irritably at the time Caroline made the third call.
“Mr. Lee, it’s me, Gianna’s mother. I’m really sorry…” Caroline tried her best to apologize sincerely over the phone.
When Dean heard this, he immediately came over and gestured with his eyes, indicating he wanted to ask Wayne about the investment.
“Gianna’s mother? Oh, Aunt Goodwin, what’s the matter?” Wayne was so drunk last night that he slept on the street before being brought home by his family. His mind was not clear now.
