Some people can easily touch your heartstrings without doing anything at all.
Ranita lowered her eyelids, feeling a tingling sensation in the back of her head. "Mr. Stuart?"
"What did you say to Chris?" Brendon's question caught Ranita off guard. He rarely asked such questions before or even cared about who she talked to.
"Is there a problem, Mr. Stuart?" Ranita tried to brush it off, but Brendon pressed on with another question, "Can't you tell me?"
Ranita was speechless.
"It's not easy to explain." She casually replied and was about to create some distance between them when someone suddenly bumped into her from behind. She instinctively dodged but accidentally hit her forehead against Brendon's head.
It was just a light bump, but like a chain reaction in chemistry experiments, both of them quickly stepped back due to the heat generated by their contact.
"Be careful!" Chris promptly held onto Ranita's shoulder. "Don't fall!"
Ranita smiled at Chris gratefully but felt as if she had lost all energy suddenly; everything seemed barren now that Brendon didn't like her after all.
Next door Shannon lightly grabbed onto Brendon's arm, "Are you okay?"
Brendon looked at Ranita heavily for a moment; his cheeks began hurting suddenly - damn this woman! Did she hate him so much that she avoided him even when they touched?
He was angry!
"I'm fine," he responded indifferently and withdrew his gaze from Ranita before turning towards Shannon again.
