The waves rhythmically rolled onto the sandy beach, and under the sunlight, silver foam sparkled like fish scales. A couple, leaving four sets of footprints, walked slowly along the shoreline.
Although Ranita and Brendon had lived together for several years, most of their time was spent working or at the Boulderland Mansion. If there were business trips, after finishing work, they were too tired to do anything but rest. Moments like this, walking side by side, felt like a dream.
Ranita slowed down slightly while gazing at Brendon's shoulder uncontrollably.
"Ranita…" Suddenly stopping mid-stride Brennon looked down at her from above.
"Hmm?" Ranita's heart skipped a beat, thinking he had caught onto her little scheme. She waved her hands, "I wasn't spying on you!"
Brendon paused for a moment.
"Ha ha!" He grinned and teased, "Oh... so you were spying on me?"
His teasing tone made Ranita blush.
She lifted her foot and lightly kicked his leg, "Who was spying on you? Don't be so presumptuous!"
Her annoyed yet playful demeanor showed off her inner childlike nature.
Ranita used to be too calm and collected in the past. As a young girl of twenty-something years old, she had already become a composed member of society without any vitality or energy left in her.
Brendon swallowed hard.
He furrowed his eyebrows and pretended to bend over in pain, "Ouch! That really hurt!"
"You're faking it! I didn't even use much force." Ranita faced Brendon but couldn't bring herself to hurt him; she cared for him too much.
Brendon hopped around in place a few times. "It really hurts!" he exclaimed dramatically.
"Really?" Ranita believed him and immediately became nervous as she leaned down to check his leg. Suddenly Brendon leaned forward and kissed her lips playfully before running away like a child would do after playing such games with their friends at recess time during school hours.
Ranita realized that he was just playing with her as usual; she chased after him shouting out his name, "Brendon, don't run!"
The sea breeze still blew while laughter accompanied by the wind could be heard from afar. Julia who came over with files saw them chasing each other from afar; taking out her phone recorded the video clip then sent it over to Shannon's phone.
Ranita laughed while grabbing onto Brendon's shirt collar but before exerting any force upon it, Brendon bumped into her first then took advantage of this opportunity by embracing her tightly within his arms.
