The Ember In The Dark novel Chapter 28

Toni was leaning against a tree, his leg bent beside him. He was looking up at the stars again. I think that is his favorite pastime at night. He's always looking up.

"Hey." I snuck up on him. He didn't jump though.

"Hello beautiful." I think my heart just stopped and restarted. He was giving me that sexy crooked smirk of his.

"Thank you for meeting me." I started fidgeting with my fingers, getting shy suddenly.

"Anytime you want me to come, I'll be here." He grabbed my face, forcing me to look up at him.

"I have some good news." I smiled excitedly at him.

"Oh? What is it?" His fingers started to play with a strand of my hair giving me goosebumps. It made me want his skin against my own.

"I got my dragon."

His smile mirrored my own. He was just as excited for me as Ash was. He really cares for me and respects me.

'Thank you Goddess. She's so happy.' Toni's thoughts enter my mind.

He was truly happy for me. I really do have the best mate. He's made for me. I feel so sure of our mate bond now. There are no more doubts plaguing my mind. Lien can feel the pull to Toni too. He's mine and mine alone.

I pinched his shirt and pulled on it a little. He took a step forward brushing my arms with his fingertips. Fireworks erupted inside me under his touch. He stared at my lips with hunger. I caged my lower lip between my teeth, trying to contain my own hunger for him.

His hands trailed up my arms to my neck and towards my face. His thumb rubbed against my lip gently, causing me to open my mouth ever so slightly. I nibbled his thumb, causing him to lick his lips.

"Ember." He spoke my name with such a need.

I sucked on the tip of his finger and he growled lightly.

'If she keeps this up I don't know that I'll be able to stop myself.' Toni's inner thoughts reached me.

I stopped sucking on his finger and started kissing his neck just below his jaw line. I licked his neck, clutching his shirt in my hands. I want him. No, I need him.

Toni couldn't take my teasing anymore. He grabbed my face between his hands and pulled me towards him. His lips began their assault on my own. There was no tenderness tonight, just a lot of desire and lust. His hands wandered down my back and his fingers brushed against my ass. I pressed myself closer to his chest allowing my breasts to push against his pecs.

My back arched as desire coursed through me. Toni's tongue entered my mouth tasting every corner. A small moan left me, muffled against his lips. I want to feel his bare skin against my own.

I played with the hem of his shirt, slowly lifting it up. I let my hand memorize every dip of his muscles. His skin was warm and soft, but his muscles were strong and hard. He grunted in pleasure as I continued lifting his shirt up. Our lips broke apart for a moment while I slipped his shirt over his head.

"Are you sure about this Ember?" His chocolate eyes met my emerald ones.
