"I see!" Leon and Henry both gasped in realization when they understood Chandler's refusal to join them.

Leon's tight expression began to relax when he discovered that Chandler had good reason to do so.

"Don't worry, Elder Quinn. He's just the Scarlet Thief, and he's no match for me! I've already told you that if he dares to show his face, I'll do everything in my power to defeat him and avenge you and Elder Yates!" Leon declared, smiling.

"Um," Chandler and Henry exchanged dubious glances. They were both aware of how powerful the Scarlet Thief was, and neither of them agreed that Leon would fare well during combat against him!

Yet this young man was declaring over and over to them that he would do everything in his power to help them bring down the Scarlet Thief!

Neither of them could understand where Leon got the confidence to make such a daring claim!

'What an arrogant young man!" All of a sudden, a bloodcurdling cackle rang out from behind them.

With that, a black car sped toward them at breakneck speed as though it appeared out of nowhere and screeched to a halt.

The car door swung open, and an elderly man in his midsixties, wearing a black eyepatch and a scowl, stepped out of the car. Even the air seemed to turn cold around him as he gazed at them with malice.
