Philip looked sideways. When he saw Roger appear in front of him, his fists clenched even tighter!
“Why? Why did you hide everything from me?!” Philip roared, his mind full of questions and resentment.
Why was everything kept from him?
Why put him in this chess game?
Was there no love? Had love disappeared?
Roger was calm as he glanced at the huge black stargate that towered in the sky, his eyes constantly flickering.
He said, “Phil, there are many things I can’t tell you now. Even if I tell you, there’s no solution. You can only continue to grow and become stronger. One day, when you can finally take my place, stand at the top of the world, and carry the burden upon your shoulders, I’ll tell you the truth.”
“The truth? I don‘t need the truth. I just want to know what your plan is. As your son and as the heir of the Clarke family, why don’t I have the right to know?”
“You keep saying that I’m not strong enough. So tell me, will I only be strong enough when I reach your realm?!” Philip roared and asked, feeling extremely aggrieved.
Roger smiled lightly and said, “You can be considered the strongest person in this world if you reach my realm, but you won’t be when it comes to the other shore. Talents are abundant there, and many people are stronger than me. They’re a threat to this world and a threat to the human race…”
“In their opinion, this is the land of sin and the source of crime and turmoil. Hence, they’ll invade this land at all costs and try to overturn civilization and the human race here…”
