Chapter 226
The cab quickly arrived at a villa.
The moment it came to a stop, Sam pushed open the car door and walked forward with large strides.
Laura hurried to catch up to him. “Sam… Don’t rush things and get into a fight with Heather. Let me talk to her first.”
Sam opened the villa door. “There’s no need. I’ll speak with Heather directly.”
Standing in the middle of the living room, Laura said in a loud voice, “Sam, must you make Heather angry? Do you absolutely have to divorce her?”
As she was speaking, a woman dressed in a gray sweater and skirt came down the stairs. Her expression turned cold upon hearing Laura’s words.
“Heather!”
Sam stepped forward, attempting to hold her hand, but she avoided him.
He took another step forward. “Hettie, I’m not cheating on you.”
Heather sneered as she pushed him away, “See you in court!”
“H–Hettie…”
Heather walked over to Laura.
Laura lowered her head guiltily. When Sam moved to chase after Heather, she blocked his way.
“Sam, let Heather cool off a bit, okay? We can talk about the divorce some other time. I believe that Heather will understand.”
Heather glanced at them, eyes full of disgust and disdain, before leaving through the front door.
Sam stood where he was, stunned.
Madison’s voice sounded in his ears. “Go after her, or you’ll regret it for life.”
Sam shoved Laura away and rushed out of the house.
Heather was hailing a cab by the roadside.
Her face was full of anger. She knew that she was not in the right state of mind to be driving, so she walked out to hail a cab instead.
Suddenly, a truck rushed straight toward Heather from a distance.
Before she could react, she was shoved aside by a force, tumbling to a stop in a nearby flowerbed.
A violent crash rang out, and the live chat exploded into discussion.
“Holy shit. Did an accident just happen?”
“Was there an accident?”
“Are they alright?”
“Were the people involved saved?”
“Ahhhh! I’m so anxious!”
Madison performed a divination, then said calmly, “They’re all fine.”
The livestream viewers collectively sighed in relief. There was a lot of noise coming from the scene. After a long while, the phone was picked up. A disheveled- looking Sam appeared on screen, his face pale.
Breathing heavily, he said, “Thank you, miss, thank you! If not for you, Heather would’ve been…”
He couldn’t imagine what would’ve happened if he hadn’t run after Heather and pulled her back in time.
Laura came running toward them, her expression full of concern.
“Heather, Sam, are you two alright? You really scared me just now.”
She noticed that Sam was still holding his phone.
“Sam, what kind of situation do you think this is? Why are you still watching a pretty woman’s livestream? Is she that beautiful?
