Chapter 237
Given Madison’s abilities, as long as she went over, she should be able to cope with the ghost inside
The system suddenly said, “Ms. Locke, you’ve worked hard to gather spiritual energy through the livestreams. Are you really going to waste it on this?
“Don’t forget, you still have to confront the person who took Helena. Currently, you still have no idea how strong they are.”
Madison paused for a bit before continuing, “You all stay here. I’ll go in alone.”
Shane worriedly asked, “Ms. Locke, are you sure about this?”
“No worries”
Madison had already made her way to the store room’s entryway.
When she reached out to push the door open, the system’s frantic voice reverberated in her mind, “Ms. Locke, don’t be dumb. Haven’t you divined the situation? You’re about to face a huge crisis because of Rebecca!
“It’s a huge crisis! You can’t guarantee you’ll survive with your current spiritual energy. Yet you’re still wasting it?
Madison took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
She responded to the system in her mind, “A favored one of the heavens truly is exceptional. She’s driving me to the edge, step by step.”
“Why are you still risking your life when you already know this?” said the system.
Madison chuckled gently, her gaze deepening as she stared at the ghost in the store room.
“I’m curious about what lies at the end of the road.”
Just then, the system said again, “Maddie, have you lost your mind? You’re going to die! Don’t forget that Rebecca carries good karma as well. She isn’t just like any of the favored ones of the heavens.
However, Madison stopped responding to the system.
With a burst of spiritual energy, she hurled numerous talismans at the ghost.
Outside the store room, Shane and the others were unsettled as they heard the occasional shrill cries coming from within.
Lucy tried to comfort them, “Don’t worry, Mr. Yeatman. Ms. Locke is really powerful, so there’s no way anything will go wrong.”
Shane nodded. “I know Ms. Locke’s strong, but I still can’t help but worry.”
The others were fearful and stepped back nervously.
But Mia, on the other hand, noticed Yara moving closer to the store room.
“Yara, aren’t we supposed to stay away?”
Yara went to Wanda, who was standing at the entrance.
Wanda glanced at her. “Why are you here?”
“Something’s off with Madison.”
Wanda tilted her head, puzzled. “Off? What do you mean?”
“With Madison’s ability, this shouldn’t be taking this long. She should’ve been out by now.”
Even if Wanda could see Yara and the others, she still didn’t know much about cultivation. “But she has no reason to drag this out!” “That’s why I said something seems wrong.”
Just as she was about to finish, there came a tremendous scream from inside the store room that was almost deafening.
