Chapter 281
Madison remained silent.
“What did you see this time?”
Madison didn’t reply and simply stared at Yara.
Yara’s heart sank, and she shot up from her seat. “I’ll go see what Rebecca is up to!”
She quickly returned after a while. “Rebecca is also getting styled. I didn’t see her doing anything suspicious.”
Madison closed her eyes. How could a favored one of the heavens take matters into her own hands? Fate would naturally assist her.
Once the styling was completed, David approached. “Ms. Madison, the guests have all arrived. You and Ms. Rebecca should make your appearance.” “Okay.”
As Madison exited the room, she spotted Jason leaning against the wall.
Jason was looking down, holding his shoes. When he saw her come out, his eyes widened in surprise. “Y–You’re Madison?”
She was completely different from the skinny girl he remembered. How long had it been since he was last home?
“Did you get plastic surgery?”
Madison pursed her lips.
Jason extended his arm toward her. “I’ll accompany you downstairs today. Ethan will be with Becky. Just do whatever I say later. Don’t embarrass our family!” Madison linked her arm with his and followed his pace as they walked to the staircase.
Meanwhile, Rebecca also arrived at the staircase and was holding Ethan’s arm.
Rebecca smiled at Madison and the others. “Jason, why the long face? Losers must accept the stakes! You lost the game with Ethan, so you have to take care of Maddie.”
Jason tapped her on the head. “Today is such an important day. I wanted to be beside you.”
Rebecca stuck out her tongue. “That’s what you get for losing!”
At this moment, thunderous applause echoed from downstairs.
Ethan reminded them, “Alright, enough playing around. It’s time to go down.”
As he spoke, he shot Madison a cold look. “Today is important for both you and Becky. Don’t even think about causing trouble.” Madison said nothing.
Jason chimed in, “Don’t worry, Ethan. I’ll keep an eye on her.”
As they went downstairs, Rebecca said, “Oh, Maddie, you probably don’t know! Harvey’s flight had an issue and had to turn back.”
Her voice was sweet as she added, “What a pity! Harvey can’t make it on such an important day.”
Madison paused in her steps. “Is he alright?”
“Harvey is fine. It’s just that the weather there is bad, and he couldn’t land. He had to switch to another flight. By the time he returns, the party will probably be
over.”
Madison let out a sigh of relief, knowing that Harvey was fine.
As the four of them appeared, the applause abruptly ceased.
All eyes turned to the four gracefully descending the staircase.
Ethan and Jason were strikingly handsome, making them some of the most prominent faces in Riverview’s wealthy circle.
Rebecca was also well–known in the entertainment industry, earning the nickname “Spicy Sweetheart“.
However, what surprised everyone was Madison.
It had been several months since she had last made an appearance.
The last time, Madison looked thin, with sallow skin. She appeared timid and anxious, and her eyes reflected an unsophisticated demeanor.
Unexpectedly, Madison seemed like a different person only a few months later.
