The Girl With Lycan Blood novel Chapter 8

I finished off breakfast with Katy as we talked about going to the mall, she wanted to go get new shoes or something. She's been explaining to me why she needs a whole new shoe collection. Either they didn't fit or they're unexceptional, whatever that means.

"Anna all you have to do is ask Tyler." Katy finishes.

"Ugh, what if he's busy?" I protest.

"He's not, its just paperwork."

"That's something." I put my hands on my hips.

"Ya but he does that every day." She wines.

"Fine," I complain. I have a feeling Katy's been using the fact that Tyler and I are mates to get what she wants.

I walk down the long hallway that leads to his office; I reach for the door handle-

"Oh, Tyler I know you want to." I hear through the door.

What the hell! I place my ear on the door and listen.

"Tyler, what's wrong, do you need me to cheer you up?" The flirty, girly voice rings in my ears.

I can't even breath. My heart starts to race, and my eyes grow watery. Should I go in? I feel like I'm going to puke. "Emily please," Tyler says.

Oh god, I let out a small whimper, I can feel my wolf hurting. I thought things were getting better, I thought that I finally got what I've been waiting for, happiness. I gently move my ear from the door, I don't want to hear any more. I can't even comprehend what I just heard.

"Anna?" Katy calls as she peeks down the hall.

I look up at her as a tear falls down my cheek. All I've been doing is crying! I'm such a baby, I'm weak.

I walk past her and to the front room.

"Anna, what happened?" Katy asks.

I turn around and face her. "Tell Tyler I hope he's happy with Emily." I chuckle.

Her face goes blank and her eyes grow wide.

"I'll get my stuff later," I say before going out the front door. I slam it behind me and start walking down the dirt road that leads who knows where. I walk until I reach the main road, it leads into town. I walk along the road until I get into town. I check my phone that luckily was in my pocket, I've been walking for about an hour. As the sun starts to set I walk up to Route 33, I might as well get everything off my mind. I get in line and wait until I reach the bouncer.

"Let me in," I ask a bit annoyed.

"Woah, I need to see some id." The bouncer chuckles.

I glare at him. He's a wolf from Tyler's pack, I've seen him around.

"Look buddy let me in, or I'll get Alpha Tyler."

"Oh yeah, you're going to get the Alpha." He laughs.

"I'm Annalee Evens, Tyler Parker's mate. Call him if you have to."

He raises an eyebrow and lets me in. I give him a smile and pat his chest. "Good choice." I enter the club and head to the bathroom. I look in the mirror and fix my hair.

"I guess I'm not dressed for clubbing," I mutter to myself.

"You need a dress?" A girl asks as she comes out of one of the stalls.

"Um, yeah?" I have to admit that this is a little weird.

"I got one for ya." She slurs. Obviously, she's been drinking. "Come on I'll switch clothes with you."

"Switch clothes?" I question. I like my outfit.

"Give me your number and we can get each other's clothes back." She suggests as she stumbles to the sinks.

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"Yah, I'm going anyways."

"Then sure, I guess." This is probably the weirdest thing I've done.

I go into one of the stalls and strip off my shorts and blouse, and throw them over the stall wall. After I throw mine she throws her dress over and it lands on my head. I put on the dress, it's nude and black. It really hugs my body and reaches mid thigh. It's a little more revealing than what I usually wear but it will have to do. I exit the stall and so does the girl.

"Here give me your number and I'll call you tomorrow." She pulls out her phone.

I give her my phone number and look in the mirror. I look good.

"Oh, I'm Chelsea by the way." She holds out her hand.

"I'm Anna, thanks for letting me borrow your dress." I shake her hand.

"No problem, here have my shoes!"

She takes off her black pumps and gives them to me, I take off my flats and hand them to her.

"Wow, they fit," I say not believing that we are the exact same size.

"Yeah, it's a little weird." She laughs. "Well, see ya tomorrow." She waves as she stumbles out the bathroom door.

Did that just happen?

I walk out of the restroom and push through the small crowd by the bathroom doors. I make my way up to the bar and sit on one of the stools.
