"Mr. Xavier."
Nolan answered the phone and wiped the blood off his hands indifferently. His expression was not elegant or gentle at all, totally different from his public persona. His charming eyes were so cold that one who saw into his eyes could not help shivering.
"Is that done?"
"Generally, it's almost done, but I have an important piece of information to tell you."
Nolan threw the paper out of his hand. For him, the entanglement of the Xaviers was really a piece of cake, but it was a good show for him.
"What information?"
Mr. Xavier frowned slightly, and what Nolan said next shocked him completely.
"I saw the results of the paternity test of Meredith's baby. Her baby is of the lineage of your family. So, what are you going to do about it?"
"The baby... Is it of the lineage of our family?"
Mr. Xavier was full of disbelief. He had never thought of this possibility at all. Shouldn't that baby be a bastard with whom Meredith wanted to force Derek to take responsibility?
The shocking truth silenced him for a while, and Nolan said again, "If you don't want to leave any trouble behind, I can help you... Solve the problem."
For Nolan, getting rid of an unborn baby was nothing.
Mr. Xavier clenched the microphone in his hand, "I need to think it over. Don't do anything until you get my instructions."
After saying that, he hung up the phone in a daze.
Derek had a baby, which meant he had a great-grandchild. The news brought him mixed feelings of both shock and happiness.
If this baby's mother was not Meredith, perhaps he would happily find the great-grandchild back. However, it was Meredith who had this baby, even at the time when Derek had agreed to get engaged to Chloe.
For a moment, even a man like Mr. Xavier, who had been accustomed to the ups and downs, was at a loss.
What should he do with this baby...
Mr. Xavier thought for a moment and called Violet over.
"Meredith's baby is Derek's."
After all, Violet was Derek's mother and the child's grandmother, so she had the right to know about it.
"What? That's impossible. How... How could that woman be pregnant with Derek's baby?"
Violet's first reaction was not to believe the information. She knew that Derek, her son, was not willing at all to touch any of the women he despised.
That was why she was so sure that Meredith's child was unrelated to the Xaviers.
"Can there be anything wrong with the paternity test?" Mr. Xavier shook his head, "It's useless for you to run away from reality now. Think about how to deal with this baby now."
At the same time, Mr. Xavier thought of the fortune-teller who said that Meredith's fate was very compatible with Derek's. Was it true?
"No, this..." Violet shook her head when she saw Mr. Xavier's hesitation.
Although she had always wanted a grandchild, the grandchildren she wanted should be from a mother of a prestigious family and high status, not from a woman who had been in jail, with a bankrupt family plagued with scandals!
Meredith, even if she was pregnant, could never be admitted.
