The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 248

"I did all these for you, for the whole family!"

Mr. Xavier glared back at Derek and raised his voice, "If you want to leave, then go and never come back. The Xaviers doesn't need a unfilial heir!"

He was outrageous that he kept coughing. His face was red. He stumbled and almost fell.

Derek was angry as well, but he got worried when he saw his grandpa being unwell. He walked over to help him, "Grandpa, calm down."

"That's all I want to say. My days are counted, Derek. Why can't you satisfy my last will? This engagement is important for the Xaviers. As the heir, you have to make some sacrifices for the family." His grandpa persuaded him.

Derek had never thought that his grandfather, who had always been dominant, would say that. His hands trembled and many recollections came into his mind.

The happy days with Meredith, how worried and excited his grandpa was when he woke up, how his grandpa held his hand and taught him to walk when he was a kid... Meredith and grandpa, two most important person in his life.

He could not any of them go.

"Come back with me when you think it through."

Mr. Xavier coughed again. He pushed Derek away and teetered foward.

Only then did Derek realize that his grandfather, who had always been his hero was getting old. Even if he didn't admit his being old, his bent back and gray hair would not lie.

"Grandpa..."

Derek walked over. After all, he couldn't bear to look at his grandfather's lonely back. It was a sad feeling when seeing a hero getting old.

"Good boy. You have to remember no matter how long you're out there, you have to come home eventually. Derek, don't let me down again!"

Mr. Xavier held Derek's hands. For him, he really abandoned his dignity and left the Xaviers' family affairs to the Leslies. Now, he was even willing to expose his vulnerable side to get Derek's empathy.

However, he had no other choice. As long as Derek was safe, it was worth it.

"I... I know."

Derek lowered his eyes. It was obviously not a wise choice to provoke his grandpa now. On the one hand, Meredith's mother was still in the hand of the Leslies. If Meredith was missing and Amelia in trouble, then he was the one to be blamed.

"Okay, let's go back."

Mr. Xavier nodded. Derek said nothing more and quietly helped his grandpa out of here.

After a sleepless night in bed, Meredith heard a knock on the door.

She went out to open the door and saw Violet standing at the door. Compared to Meredith's haggard and disheveled figure with dark circles under her eyes, Violet was still elegant and energetic.

She didn't seem to feel guilty about kidnapping a pregnant woman. When she saw Meredith come out, she even smiled. "You don't look very well. Don't worry, I won't do anything harmful to you. You can sleep tight."

Meredith sneered in her heart, thinking how hypocritical Violet was.

Meredith knew Violet well. In her eyes, people without wealth and power mean nothing. She didn't consider others' feelings at all. No one could resist her power and wealth. She could do whatever she wanted.

"If Mrs. Xavier can keep calm after being kidnapped, then you can come back and lecture me."
