This desire to control made her breathless. Meredith didn't know what happened to her that she could be so paranoid.
"I'm tired. Can I go and rest now?"
Meredith didn't want to tangle with Violet anymore, so she said faintly.
"As long as you cooperate with us obediently, I won't make it difficult for you. Just go."
Violet replied, but something in Meredith's eyes made her very unhappy.
She actually saw disgust and pity for herself in this woman's eyes? How could a lowly person like her behave like this?
Violet felt that as long as it had something to do with Meredith, it would make her uncomfortable, so she said to the servants, "Keep an eye on her. I'm going back to prepare for the engagement. Make sure the child is safe and sound."
Meredith had not gone far. When she heard the word "Engagement," she couldn't help but tremble. Only when Violet saw it did she feel better.
It seemed that this woman was still thinking of the idea of "raising her status by her son", but now Violet thought she had ruined it.
Fortunately, she found out in time.
Violet left, Meredith went back to the bedroom, and two nurses followed behind her, with no intention of leaving.
"What are you doing here?" Meredith felt uncomfortable being watched and wanted to drive them out.
"We're doing as instructed, Miss Mason. It's only been a month. Just bear with it."
Meredith looked at the indifferent expressions of these two person and held a deep breath in her heart. "You're helping the devil. I couldn't sleep when seeing you. Get out!"
"I'm sorry, Miss Mason. You should get used to it as soon as possible."
Meredith's words had no effect at all. They were still standing by her bed, as still as two door-gods.
Although Meredith was unhappy, there was nothing she could do. "Whatever you want, I want to rest. Don't make any noise and disturb me."
Then she pulled the blanket over her head, trying to escape the feeling of being watched.
"Miss Mason, you're going to feel suffocated. For the sake of your baby, it's better not to do this."
Meredith was completely annoyed. "You forbade me this and that again and again. What do you want on earth!"
"Our mission is to ensure that the child is born safely and healthily. We hope you won't make things difficult for us, Miss Mason. Otherwise, we can only report it to madam and let her handle it."
Meredith's face was gloomy. If Violet knew about it, she might attack her mother. Thus, Meredith could do nothing but cooperate with them.
Thinking of this, Meredith was filled with endless hatred. Perhaps this was Derek's plan from the beginning.
It was all a lie to ask a doctor to see her mother. His aim was just to control her. Now, her mother had become a bargaining chip for them to threaten her.
Meredith didn't try to make things difficult anymore. She lay on the bed with her eyes closed, but she couldn't sleep.
Will Damian see that line of words? Or could someone help her to make a call and contacted other people for her?
All she could do now was to wait.
In the evening.
Derek tossed and turned around in bed, unable to rest even though his body was screaming to be exhausted.
