The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 291

Did he hurt Meredith?

Parker didn't want to think about these, but his mind kept replaying the scene which happened back then.

If he hadn't insisted on leaving with Meredith and if he hadn't called at that time, maybe nothing would have happened to her.

Parker fell to the ground, feeling guilty and regretful.

After a while, Derek calmed down. "Let go."

The men hesitantly let go. Derek immediately invited the most professional rescue teams. Now, time was life. He couldn't wait, and Meredith couldn't afford it even more.

Soon, foreign rescue teams arrived and began to salvage the river.

It began to rain again, but Derek stood by the river, waiting for the results.

Parker's mood was complicated when he saw Xavier's solemn expression.

What he had said to this man was now ironic. He said he would never hurt Meredith, but now, it was him who made her life uncertain.

If something really happened to Meredith, he wouldn't be able to pay back even if he died ten thousand times.

Parker approached Derek step by step. "What if she really dies?"

"I don't believe she's dead. It's impossible."

Derek didn't have an umbrella. Raindrops fell from his hair and dripped along the tight lines of his face.

Parker didn't say anything, and the two of them just waited in the rain for the results.

After a long time and until it was getting dark and everything became extremely blurry, the rescue team slowly went ashore, "Only found some debris, I'm afraid..."

"Look again."

Derek said expressionlessly, glancing at the fragments left by the cars after the strong clashing without blinking.

He had experienced all the ups and downs of his life in the past few days. First, he thought that Meredith was still alive, thinking about how to start over with her in the future. Then, it was a terrible car accident, and now he couldn't find her anywhere.

Was this a silly joke made by God?

Derek didn't believe in fate, so he had to keep looking.

"But it's too dark now, even if we keep looking..."

"I said, go on!"

Derek said coldly. He was like a gambler who put all his chips on it. There are hints of madness.

Rescue teams came here for a very generous reward which could be regarded as a windfall. Seeing that Derek was so stubborn, they had no choice but to continue to salvage.

Time went on and it was late at night.

Derek's body gradually lost its temperature in the cold rain, and everything in front of him began to blur.

But the man didn't want to find a place to hide from the rain. He just stood straight there like a statue.

He was both supervising those people and doing a useless form of self-punishment.

He couldn't help but wonder whether he had pushed her too hard. If he hadn't been so anxious and forced Meredith to stay by his side, she wouldn't have wanted to run away and wouldn't have encountered such a thing.

All sorts of messy thoughts intertwined, causing Derek to have a splitting headache. Finally, his tall body shook. It was as if he could not bear this kind of torture. He fell down.
