She shook her head, "Auntie, Derek is too busy. I shouldn't have let him go shopping with me." What Caroline said was completely different from what she thought.
Violet had a feeling that things were not going so smoothly. Her son promised her happily, but he did such a thing behind her.
She immediately took Caroline's hand and led her into the house, "Caroline, Derek really went too far. Don't worry. When he comes back, I'll give him a lesson well. Please don't mind it."
"No, auntie, I don't mean to blame Mr. Xavier."
"Mr. Xavier is a person who was born for great ambition. He should be busy managing such a big company by himself. I understand him," Caroline showed her understanding.
Violet was satisfied. She didn't really mean what she had just said. She knew exactly what her son was like, but whatever he may be, he was still her son.
Caroline's words made her feel very comfortable. Such a gentle girl was indeed her favorite daughter-in-law candidate.
She took Caroline's hand and sat on the sofa, "Caroline, what do you think of Derek?"
A flash of light flashed in Caroline's eyes that looked slightly downward, "Mr. Xavier is young and capable, and he is outstandingly capable. It is of course the best person who can make so many people praise him."
"Auntie, why did you ask me about this?"
Violet looked at her with a smile, "Since you think so highly of him, do you think my son is someone worth trusting for the rest of one's life?"
Caroline looked as if she had been startled. She immediately lowered her head to look downward. Her face was full of shyness and timidity, "Auntie, what are you talking about?"
Violet covered her mouth and chuckled, "There's nothing to be shy about. Your parents passed away early and your grandfather was now gone. The more I look at you, the more I like you."
"That's what I want my daughter to be like. If you marry Derek, you'll become my real child."
"Of course, that's just what I think. If you don't want to, I won't force you. I just want to ask what's your impression of Derek? Do you like him?"
Caroline's face was flushed, and it took her a while to squeeze out a few words out of her mouth, "I, I like him."
Violet was not surprised. In her opinion, her son was the best. How could any girl not like him? She patted her hand with a smile on her face.
"As long as you like him. Okay, I know what you want. Don't worry, you have my full support."
They did not notice that there was a small figure standing at the corner of the building.
Easton listened to everything they said and his face was so angry that he looked down at Caroline on the sofa. He curled his mouth, rolled his eyes, and ran back to his room.
Downstairs, Caroline suddenly whispered, "Auntie, I heard that Mr. Xavier has a son. Where is him?"
"Oh, right. How could I forget about such an important thing? You mean Easton. That's right. Easton is Derek's son. He's almost six years old. Don't worry. Easton is still young. As long as you love him as your own son, he will accept you."
"Of course... I wonder, who's Easton's birth mother?" Caroline said softly.
Violet's face froze, then she waved her hand as usual, "That woman is dead, and she's not a good person. You don't have to care. And Derek has never been married to that woman. She didn't count."
Caroline's eyes sparkled, but she was relieved in her heart.
Before she came, she had already asked someone to inquire about some matters in the country. Although she was dissatisfied with Derek having a son, she would not give up on him just because he had a son.
In her opinion, even if he had a son, how could a little brat stir up any storm? What made her more concerned than this child was the child's mother.
