Parker took Meredith to an apartment that no one lived in and then gave her a key.
"Now that the video is everywhere, you should not go outside and you make a phone call to your family. This apartment is empty and there are not many people around. The paparazzi couldn't find this place. You can stay here for now."
Meredith was a little embarrassed at first, but after thinking about it, she realized that it would be even worse for her if she were outside and was found by the paparazzi.
As for her family, she believed that those people of the Xaviers would not be willing to get involved in such trouble. As for the Masons... They were to blame for all of it and they even wished she could die outside.
"Thank you. I don't know how to express my gratitude, but if you need my help in the future, I will not hesitate to be there for you."
Meredith looked at Parker gratefully and said earnestly.
However, what she said made Parker pull a wry face. She said it as if she wanted to be his sworn brother, but he brought her back not for her to treat him as her good buddy.
"Really? Then give me a kiss as a reward." Parker teased Meredith with a smile.
Meredith was startled and goggled at Parker. She couldn't believe what she had heard and unconsciously took a step back.
Seeing her reaction, Parker could only shake his head, "It was a joke. Don't be too nervous."
Meredith nodded, but she was still a little defensive until Parker raised his hands, "Sorry, I was just talking nonsense. I've got a big mouth, but I don't have the guts."
Seeing his bitter face, Meredith couldn't help but smile. Then she thought of something, and said shyly, "I... I want to take a shower first."
Just now Meredith didn't feel uncomfortable, but at this moment she felt disgusted at the thought of being touched by those lousy people today.
Especially when she thought of that creepy middle-aged man touching her clothes with his greasy hands, she felt so disgusted.
"You can take a shower first. I'll go to the other room to check the video. By the way, give me your phone. I'll take care of the phone calls for you."
Parker nodded, telling that Meredith could take the shower. Then he took her phone, set it to the mode that would only accept calls and text messages from contacts. Soon, the phone, which had been vibrating all the time, quieted down.
Then, he opened the post again and began to check the comments carefully, trying to find some clues.
All of a sudden, Meredith's cell phone rang.
Parker wanted to give the phone to her. But it was inconvenient for Meredith to answer the phone since she was in the shower. So he just left it there, but the caller was very persistent and kept calling. Finally, he could only pick it up and tried to explain it to the caller.
"Hello?" Parker's voice came from the receiver. Derek's face darkened immediately.
He had just called the Xaviers to let them know he was fine when his grandfather asked him to stay abroad for a few more days, but he refused to tell him what had happened.
Derek subconsciously thought that it might have something to do with Meredith, so he called her. But he did not expect that the person who answered the phone was not her, but a man instead.
Why would her cell phone held by a man?
"Who is that?" Derek said coldly in an unkind tone.
"This is a friend of Meredith's. It's not convenient for her to answer the phone right now." Parker was a little embarrassed, trying to avoid the caller from misunderstanding him.
