The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 637

The man unlocked the door and inserted the key, then glanced emotionlessly at Matthew. "Declan Wooler is dead. If you owe him money, give it to him when you see him down there!"

Matthew was baffled at how unmoved the other party was at the offer of 100 thousand dollars. Frankly, this was his first experience.

Right then, a group of people approached from a distance, radiating aggression and hostility. Leading the group was an average-looking woman while the rest were three burly men.

Before they even arrived, the woman shouted, "Stand right there, Wooler!"

At that, Matthew instantly knew the person in front of him was related to Declan.

However, he wasn't in a hurry. He would stand aside and wait for this Wooler guy to finish his business with the woman before questioning him.

When the man, Kingston Wooler, saw the woman, he seemed concerned. "Scarlett, why are you here?"

Scarlett Marlowe's voice was sharp and her words came out in a rapid-fire rush, like a machine gun.

"Have I ever complained about your job as a vet, Kingston? You slaughter pigs and neuter cats and dogs every day. Have I ever minded that everyone calls you a jinx?

"I looked past all of that and agreed to marry you, yet you dared to scam me!"

Kingston was baffled. "What? I've never scammed you, Scarlett. Who did you hear this from?"

She said in her shrill voice, "I didn't need to hear it from anyone! My family's house was originally scheduled for demolition. Everyone in town received compensation, except for us! When I asked why, they said it was because of you!

"Thanks to you, my family has lost 1.8 million dollars. You better pay for this, Kingston!"

Kingston couldn't believe the accusation. "What does that have to do with me? I don't even know the people who are demolishing your house."

Scarlett pointed at his nose, screaming, "You don't? Just admit what you've done! If you're not paying me back, we'll break off our engagement!"
