“Tsk, Mrs. Kent, you are quite bold and vigorous to deal with Noah!” Steven exclaimed with a click of his tongue.
He found the young man disgusting, so he was pleased to see Noah taken down.
Seeney remarked, “Why keep a wild card like him around if he’s unmanageable? Are we supposed to wait for him to cause trouble again?”
Steven added, “You have a sense of humor…”
After speaking, he stood up and said calmly, “Even if Taekwonryu comes looking for trouble, I won’t lift a finger against Johne. Because I hate being manipulated by others. Even if Joe plotted against me, she would have to apologize to me. If you scheme against me and then act like nothing happened, that’s not going to fly!”
Noticing that Steven seemed genuinely angry, Seeney frowned and said, “Mr. Evans, the plaque means a lot to me. It was something my late husband never forgot.”
Steven replied coldly, “You keep switching between talking about your late husband and late father. It’s annoying to listen to all this talk about dead people.”
Seeney was taken aback and then became enraged. “Do you think I want to do this? I’m a woman, living in the midst of so many vultures. Is that easy?”
Steven turned to her and said, “Everything you have now belongs to the Jones family, not you. If it’s so difficult to keep possession, why not let go?”
Seeney sneered, “It’s easy for Mr. Evans to talk like that. Have you ever thought about what would happen to me if I let go of my power?”
Steven shook his head and said, “Obtaining enlightenment helps, loses to get little support. Mrs. Kent, I don’t like your character. You’re too skilled at scheming. In the future, let’s keep our interactions to a minimum. Your life has nothing to do with me.”
Upon hearing Steven’s words, Seeney’s face turned pale. After all, Steven had saved her life twice and even resolved the huge trouble brought by Kerr Jones. Seeney thought that they could at least be considered friends, but she never expected Steven to speak so heartlessly.
“There are countless people in this world who want to be friends with me, and I won’t miss you if you’re gone!” Seeney retorted.
“Do you even have any friends with your sneaky nature?” Steven turned back and sneered.
“Real friends stick together through thick and thin, through life and death. Joe is also a capitalist, but I can be friends with her. As for you… Well, forget it!”
Seeney felt the sharpness of Steven’s words pierce her heart, making it skip a beat. Tears were almost streaming down her face.
“How would it hurt to just help me a little? I’ve sincerely and politely asked for your help. Do you think I want to use these methods?” Seeney said through gritted teeth.
“Because you were never honest from the start,” Steven laughed as he walked towards the door.
Seeney felt the pain of his words, but she couldn’t refute him.
After Seeney left, he felt a sense of relief. Putting this arrogant woman in her place was definitely satisfying!
However, Seeney was sure to be upset for a while.
But what did that matter to him?
After all, she was the one who had tried to deceive him from the beginning!
Steven went to see Joe and Hezti happened to be there too, so they made plans to have dinner together. Steven invited Yolanda as well, so there were three women at the table, all with stunning looks and figures, which made Steven feel full just looking at them.
If this were before, Yolanda would have been uncomfortable and unsure around people like Hezti and Joe. But after training in martial arts, she became much braver and more outgoing. Now, she could talk and laugh with them, and even express her opinions.
“Mr. Evans, will you sell your secretary to me? Name your price, I’ll take her back to Manskarta with me!” Joe said greedily, her eyes occasionally glancing at Yolanda’s chest.
