Stephen’s eyes widened. 

It was the first time learning about the story behind Seaside City’s three years of peace. It really was Ethan who brought peace to the city! 

Ethan’s support of Howard was not to foster a criminal but to boost the economy and suppress the lurking threats! 

“You might be wondering why Ethan chose Howard out of so many people,” Dennis continued to speak. 

“First, Howard has never killed anyone before. Second, at that time, only Howard and my names had enough weight to maintain order. Third, it was because Howard’s influence was powerful.” 

Stephen was stunned. The revelation that Howard had never killed anyone before was shocking. 

It meant Ethan did not pick anyone at random, and every step he took was carefully considered. Hence, all the accusations about Ethan harboring a criminal and Howard being a ruthless criminal were all false. 

What would happen to Stephen if the truth got out on the internet? Stephen could not bear to think about it. 

Dennis smiled in satisfaction when he saw Stephen’s shocked and terrified expression. However, that was not enough! 

He may have been tormented by Ethan for three years, but he had not come away empty- handed from his countless defeats.

Stephen’s face turned ghostly pale. His face was filled with fear and some despair. 

“At the moment when Seaside City was about to achieve peace, you made Ethan disappear without a trace and captured Howard. 

“Furthermore, you even caused the collapse of North Hill City, pulling away a large portion of the security forces. 

“With the two people capable of controlling Seaside City gone and the security weakened because of you, my opportunity has finally arrived! 

“I was the one who stirred up the chaos in Seaside City, but the real cause of the chaos is you.” 

Even though Stephen had guessed it, the truth hit Stephen like a ton of bricks. 

Seaside City was just a step away from peace, and he was the one who interrupted it, making him the root cause of Seaside City’s chaos! The current state of the city was all his fault! 

Large beads of sweat poured down Stephen’s face, soaking his clothes. He was on the verge of collapse, overwhelmed by the truth that Ethan did not harbor a criminal and Howard would not have caused unrest in Seaside City. On the contrary, they had both been silently working for the peace of Seaside City!
