The Invincible Arthur Gardner novel Chapter 13

Arthur exited the car store, and Edna's shiny new car was ready to be driven away. Unfortunately, Arthur's car wouldn't be delivered to his home until later.

"The car you purchased, Mr. Gardner, is an exclusive model - only five were manufactured worldwide. Additionally, they suggest that only one of these cars is located in this country! You truly have a unique and luxurious sports car at your disposal." Edna remarked.

Arthur gave a slight smile in response to Edna's words. He had a problem; he had never driven a car before, and he had to figure out how to solve it quickly, as Marco was challenging him to a car race the following week.

"And..." Edna continued. "Mr. Gardner, since there is only one car now, and I don't mind driving, but I would be honored if you would take the wheel. Furthermore, you bought such an extravagant car for me and I don't have the confidence to drive it the first time." She asked timidly.

[Hi Host, you only need to use the VIP points you have in order to unlock the driving skill. One point is enough, but it will only give you basic driving knowledge, so I suggest using all ten VIP points you have.]

"Okay," Arthur said as he mentally calculated the cost of his purchase. "I'll spend all my VIP points on driving skills." He glanced at the System's display to confirm his choice.

[Driving – 10 (Beginner)]

"Hold on, why did I only get a beginner level with 10 VIP points? Is this level sufficient for me to drive a sports car? I was thinking I'd need an even higher level - how many VIP points do I need for that?" he asked.

[Alright, host. There are three levels of skill: Beginner, Advanced, and Expert. Each level costs ten VIP points. The skills you currently have should be enough for normal street driving. However, if you upgrade to the Advanced level, it should be sufficient to compete in car races alongside those who just enjoy racing as a hobby. But If your driving level is Expert, you could be compared to a professional car racer and even take part in and win international car racing competitions.]

Arthur nodded understanding System's explanation. He quickly realized that thirty VIP points were necessary to completely unlock a skill. Although Arthur had only amassed twenty VIP points thus far, he was confident that he could accumulate more and gain access to even more skills, new experiences, and connections with more people.

Arthur walked up to Edna's white car, hopped in the driver's seat, and Edna quickly followed, settling in beside him and fastening her seat belt.

Edna turned to Arthur with a gentle, radiant smile. "Are you sure you want to drive this car, Mr. Gardner?" she queried, slightly apprehensive. "I wouldn't really feel comfortable if you were driving for me."

Arthur turned to Edna and smiled, "This is actually my first time behind the wheel, but I would never let a woman drive for me. I believe women should be respected, and this is a small way that I can show my respect."
