The Invincible Arthur Gardner novel Chapter 68

Marco and Adam leaped out of the stands in a fury after witnessing Benno's beating at the hands of Arthur. They lost the money they had paid to Benno and a considerable amount of money on the bet they'd placed.

“What the hell, Benno!” Marco shouted. “How could you do this to me? I want a rematch! I'm convinced Arthur cheated; this result is unacceptable!”

Marco attempted to lunge at Benno but was stopped by two enormous bodyguards.

"I'm not willing to give up my two billion dollars. This car race isn't fair—Arthur tricked us into believing he couldn't drive. This is definitely fraud, and we shouldn't be subjected to it."

Adam was also voicing his displeasure over the outcome of the match.

“Move it, you hulking guards! Do you think I'm scared of you?” Marco shouted, trying fruitlessly to shove Alpha's body aside.

Alpha simply smiled, barely suppressing a chuckle. "Is that the best you can do, my lord?" he asked mockingly.

The lawyer who had been acting as a mediator for the bet walked between them and, in his self-assured tone, tried to explain. "I believe this match was conducted fairly and no cheating was found. Therefore, I hereby declare Mr. Arthur Gardner the winner and he is entitled to all prizes according to the agreement previously made and signed."

"I cannot accept the result of this match!" Marco yelled furiously at Benno. "How could you lose to an amateur like Arthur? You're supposed to be a professional! Are you THAT stupid to lose to him? Return the money I paid you!" he demanded, his voice laced with anger.

Marco then attempted to escape from Alpha, but his efforts were futile. Alpha was too large and strong, rendering Marco powerless.

Adam, who had no more grievances to express, suddenly dropped to his knees, trembling and on the verge of passing out. "My two billion dollars..." he murmured in despair. "No...my money...give me back my money..." he pleaded, his voice barely audible.

Arthur slowly advanced toward Marco, maintaining a safe distance that prevented Marco from getting close to him. "And, one more reward for me," he said. "I'll collect it at a later date,"

Arthur stated, referring to their agreement, that Marco would kneel and apologize to him. He thought it would be more suitable when he requested it at a better time and situation.

Arthur spun around as Edna rushed up to him, taking his arm with a smile. "Congratulations on your victory, boss," she said. "Are you going to take me out for a romantic dinner to celebrate?"

Arthur slowly nodded and smiled. "Sure, why not? I'll treat all of you to dinner wherever you like; you can even choose the menu and the place."

Edna's face lit up with joy. "That would be great! Could you maybe also invite Claudina and Alicia? It would be more fun if everyone got together for dinner, don't you think?"

"Oh, Claudina and Alicia?" Arthur asked in surprise.

Edna nodded, her grin widening. "Yes, why not?"

"Sure," Arthur nodded. "That would be fine. Please invite Claudina too, if she has the time to meet us."

"I'm sure," Edna replied with a warm smile, "Claudina will do anything to rearrange all of her plans if you invite her, boss."

Arthur stopped, spun around, and tossed his car keys to Benno. "Take this car home; I want to take Edna in the other one."

Benno held up the key to the luxury car and glanced at Arthur. "You sure you don't mind, boss?"

"Of course," Arthur replied casually. "We can take care of the work contract later. You don't mind, do you?”

"No, not at all!" Benno exclaimed excitedly. "Thanks, boss. I'm now officially your personal driver!"
