Lowering her face slightly to hide her sly smile, Linda was surprised to find out that Arthur had suddenly become the main owner of the Brown Company. She couldn't have predicted it, and even Marco had knelt before him in submission.
She was sure that Arthur still wanted her, and Linda was confident that she could win his heart back. She was a very attractive woman, the kind men dreamed of, and was Arthur's fiancée. Feeling no shame in being his partner or even his wife, she decided to use her pregnancy as an excuse.
Although Arthur had never done anything to her, Linda would tell him that he had unknowingly slept with her and that he had impregnated her. She was sure that he wouldn't be willing to lose face in front of a crowd and would have no choice other than to take responsibility. And so, she was able to win over him with her pregnancy.
Alicia clicked her tongue and saw a woman running towards Arthur. "So, Arthur Oppa," she asked, "is that girl Linda, your ex-fiancee?"
"Hmm..." Arthur answered quietly, not even looking back when Linda was walking closer. "Yes, you may say that," he said.
"Alicia," Edna warned, her voice gentle but firm. "At least hold back a little bit, okay? She's pregnant."
Edna was extremely frustrated with Marco and Linda, but deep down, she still felt bad for Linda if she was subjected to the same treatment as Marco.
“Alicia, please don’t resort to physical violence, okay? If Linda's womb miscarries because of that, then the boss could be in serious trouble," Edna said, her voice full of concern.
"Oh, Edna Unnie, you have the heart of an angel! Even when someone is trying to take advantage of the situation to deceive Arthur Oppa, you still have mercy," Alicia replied, her face displaying a hint of mockery.
As Linda approached Arthur, Alicia stepped back and got in the way.
She glared at Linda, demanding, "What do you think you're doing, bitch?!"
Linda's face was full of desperation as she pleaded, "Please, let me meet Arthur. We're still engaged, I miss him so much. We never had a bad relationship, and I'm even pregnant with his child."
Her face full of drama, Linda pleaded, "Please, Ms. Bodyguard, let me meet your boss. Won't you let this poor girl meet her fiancé?"
"Arthur, it's me, Linda," she called. "Arthur, I love you. Please give me another chance!"
But Alicia blocked her way and attempted to push her back.
"Can you get your hands off of me, bitch!" Linda snapped, her annoyance clear.
Alicia met her gaze and pointed at Marco sprawled on the floor. "You see the body of your beloved man," she said firmly. "Move forward a little more and I will make you feel the same way that stupid guy did. I'm not kidding—try it if you doubt me."
Linda was infuriated as she glared at the hapless bodyguard in front of her. Even though she threatened, Linda was certain the woman would not dare do anything to her; after all, a pregnant woman was sure to be treated with particular care. If anyone were to hurt her, Linda was sure many would rally to her defense.
"Are you stupid? You're nothing more than a useless bodyguard. Now, get out of my sight!" she demanded.
Linda said firmly, her hand poised to push Alicia's body. Alicia reacted quickly, catching Linda's hand and gripping her arm tightly.
Alicia grabbed Linda's face with her right hand and declared, "I'm not joking, okay? You think anyone would believe that Arthur Oppa impregnated you? Do you really think he'd be dumb enough to impregnate someone like you? If he wanted to have a child, I'm certain he'd pick someone much more suitable."
Alicia abruptly paused her words as Edna glanced back and gritted her teeth. "Alicia," Edna said.
"I'm telling you, if he were to make a woman pregnant, it would surely be this kind-hearted girl," Alicia declared and pointed at Edna.
The people in the place ran towards Linda and immediately grabbed her body, dragging her and Marco out of the building.
"Let us go!" Linda yelled desperately, her eyes filling with tears. "What kind of world are you living in? Don't you have a heart?"
"Let me go, you stupid trash!" Linda shouted, her voice trembling with fear.
"I'm pregnant! I'll report you to the police. I don't deserve this kind of treatment. Can't you see who you are treating? I am the most beautiful woman in this place, and I will kill anyone who dares to drag my body!"
Despite her screams and pleas, no one would listen to her complaints, and a few minutes later she was unceremoniously thrown by the men in front of the building, along with Marco who was starting to regain consciousness.
Linda reached out to touch Marco again, but he quickly pulled away and shouted, "Get away from me! You're nothing but a worthless tramp!"
"Marco, please don't do this, I love you," Linda pleaded.
Many large screens, installed in each corner of the Brown Company building, were now playing a video in the management room, and all the higher-ups of the Brown Company had gathered there.
Everyone watched the video with their various questions and anxieties, their expressions mirroring a combination of fear, anger, annoyance, and worry.
Arthur, Edna, and Alicia then stepped into the room, and the atmosphere of apprehension was unmistakable.
"What will happen to the Brown Company after this?" Everyone inquired, their voices laced with worry.
