The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2057

Chapter 2057

Alyssa’s words were clearly intended for Giselle’s ears.

She knew her grandson inside out. If Balfour really had feelings for Giselle, why on earth would he have waited until now? The two had known each other for ages, and Balfour had always been lukewarm towards her, showing not the slightest hint of affection!

It was a pity Giselle could not see where she stood, always mooning over him like a peacock in full display!

Well, today she would get a reality check; dreaming of becoming a part of the Howard family, she had another thing coming! With a seemingly kind glance at Giselle that screamed, ‘Watch yourself, Alyssa protectively led Ivy away. Giselle sneakily eyed the retreating figures of the old lady and Ivy, then invited Balfour to join her on the couch.

Balfour grunted an acknowledgment but did not sit beside her; instead, he chose an armchair a little distance away.

Giselle was slightly miffed, but it did not matter. In the living room, it was just the two of them. What did a bit of distance matter? Now, without Ivy, without the old bat, it was just her and Balfour, alone at last. All she had to do was stir up some nostalgia to remind him of the good old days, and his fondness for her would surely rekindle.

“Ivy? She’s nothing! Balfour and I are the real deal!” She said inwardly.

With this in mind, Giselle began in a sugary voice, “Balfour, do you remember the first time we met as kids…”

“Mr. Howard, this document is urgent. It needs your immediate attention.”

Quinton appeared out of nowhere, his gaze fixed forward as he strode behind Balfour and handed him an iPad, interrupting Giselle’s attempt to reminisce.

“Excuse me.”

Balfour, sparing with his words, gave Giselle a cursory dismissal.

Giselle immediately nodded with a smile. “I know you’re swamped with work; go ahead, I won’t…”

“Giselle, would you please be quiet!”

Quinton cut her off again, this time without a shred of courtesy.

Giselle’s face soured.

Who did Quinton think he was? A mere servant daring to interrupt her?
