The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2425

Seren bit her lower lip, a silent prayer in her heart that Mara would remember their bond.

Meanwhile, Mara remained unconscious in her hospital bed, and Balfour ensured she had no issues before departing.

However, instead of heading home, he found himself driving to Ivy's dorm building.

He sat quietly in his car, the reasons for his presence there blurred in his mind. All he knew was that on this particular night, he had an overwhelming urge to see Ivy.

Ivy was utterly baffled when her phone rang, and Balfour's name flashed on the screen. After being swamped with rehearsals all day, she didn’t get back to her dorm until ten at night.

"Hello?" she answered, her eyes still heavy with sleep, barely registering the gentle breathing on the other end.

Blinking away the grogginess, Ivy pulled the phone away to double-check the caller ID. Balfour?

"Why are you calling at this hour? Hello? Why aren't you saying anything?"

Was something wrong?

Suddenly wide awake, Ivy sat bolt upright in bed. "Come on, talk to me. What's going on?"

"It's nothing urgent," he finally said, his voice cutting through the darkness like a beacon. "I just wanted to see you."

Her voice came out a bit raspy, "Aren't you supposed to be with Ms. Lewis?"

"I want to see you. What does she have to do with it?"

For some reason, just hearing Ivy's voice seemed to relax Balfour. He leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes and picturing her in her bed, talking to him, and he felt an immense sense of comfort wash over him.
