The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2433

Clara's impatience flickered across her face, yet she managed to mask it well.

She shuffled closer and wrapped Tessa in a hug.

“Don't be mad at me, okay, Tessa? I was just so worked up earlier, that's why I said those things.

Don’t take it so seriously. You've been nothing but good to me, and I’m not blind to it. I'm not an ingrate. It's just that whole mess with Ivy has been dragging me down, you know? I've had to cancel more than a dozen gigs because of her drama. Can you blame me for being a bit on edge?

But now, some of those deals are finally coming back. Can't you just be happy for me, Tessa?”

Tessa exhaled a sigh.

“How could I not be happy for you? But Ivy's my daughter too. Seeing everyone turn on her – it twists my heart.”

Clara didn't care about that. She pressed on, “Tessa, you remember what I asked you to do the other day, right? Please don't let me down. Okay?”

Tessa's grip on Clara's arm tightened in a flutter of panic, “Clara, with your career back on track, do we really need to drag Ivy into this again?”

Clara gently pushed Tessa's hand away, her eyes curving with a hint of malice, “Of course we do. We're just getting started. After the hell she put me through, I'm not about to pass up a chance for a payback!”

Meanwhile, Balfour was cuddled up with Ivy. They were sweetly engrossed in a movie when Ivy's phone rang unexpectedly.

“Ivy?”

Hearing Tessa's voice left Ivy almost in a daze.
