The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2792

Watching Regina's pleading gaze, Nolan finally caved in with a nod. "You're impossible to say no to. But I've got one condition: if things get dangerous, you pull out. No heroics."

Regina hadn't expected to actually persuade him. She was so ecstatic she nearly jumped for joy, trotting over to Nolan with a beaming smile. "Don't worry, I'm not completely clueless. Mr. Harris. I can't believe you agreed. I'm so happy! Thank you!"

"Ah, well, you kept harping on about how 'championing justice' was your motivation as a journalist. How could I let you lose faith after a speech like that?"

Despite his words, a faint smile played on Nolan's lips at Regina's happiness.

"By the way," Regina said, suddenly serious, "I've been tracking Domingo's whereabouts, and there's a good chance he'll show up at a nightclub tomorrow. I'm not sure if the owner is one of his people, but I haven't been able to pin him down yet. Should we check it out?"

Her eyes sparkled with determination, and Nolan was somewhat surprised she'd managed to dig up so much on her own. "Who's the nightclub owned by? I've got a list of his possible associates from my team — it might be on there."

"It's owned by a guy named Patton."

"Hmm, you're right. He's one of Domingo's guys. You've got some real chops, Regina, hitting one of his hideouts right off the bat."

Nolan pulled up the nightclub's profile on his computer, raising an eyebrow in surprise. The city was riddled with such establishments — hybrids of karaoke bars, pool halls, and arcades catering to everyone from high schoolers to middle-aged patrons. No wonder Domingo hadn't bothered with real estate; he was already raking it in. And that was without considering his shadier dealings.

"I remember hearing they let juveniles in there. Aren't they supposed to be off-limits?" Regina frowned, concerned. Juveniles weren't supposed to be in places like that, lacking the self-control and protection needed.
