The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2801

Regina's hunch about Domingo being Imogen's ex-husband wavered as she pondered over it.

"Domingo wasn't always rolling in dough," Nolan said. "From what I've heard, he's only come into money over the past few years. The guy's a mystery but cuts through the red tape like a chainsaw. He's got this street cred for being loyal, and that's got him a whole entourage. He's stacked his chips high in no time. I really dropped the ball there. If I'd done my homework before we went in on that plot of land, I wouldn't have walked right into his trap."

Nolan's words sent a chill down Regina's spine. This Domingo character sounded like a real piece of work—a hustler through and through!

No wonder Imogen was plotting her way to the top after getting tangled up with him.

The two sat quietly on the couch, exchanging the clues they had gathered, looking as cool as cucumbers.

Domingo watched them through the surveillance feed and let out a sneer.

"This pair really thinks they're something, huh? They've been keeping their cool, aside from some initial panic. Acting like they're in their own living room. Mr. Skinner, keeping Mr. Harris cooped up in there doesn't sit right with me. Didn't Imogen say just dealing with the girl would do the trick?"

Domingo gave him a frosty glance, and immediately someone nudged the speaker, "Got rocks in your head? Mr. Harris came in with that thorn in our side. If we just take out the girl, you think Mr. Harris won't come after us for the rest? I say we go whole hog and take care of them both. The Harris Group won't miss one with all their money and power. We can smooth over the land deal then too. What do you say, Mr. Skinner?"
