The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2851

"Good heavens, what happened to you?" Aline exclaimed as she noticed the red mark on Madeline's cheek. "Did someone hit you? And you didn't even bother to treat the wound?"

Aline had a soft heart, especially when it came to injuries. Without hesitation, she reached out to examine Madeline's face more closely.

Madeline didn’t know that Aline was Nolan’s mother, and she dodged with irritation. "Don't touch me." She said.

Nolan quickly intervened. "Mom, this isn't your concern right now. Please, go back home."

As soon as Madeline realized who Aline was, her eyes lit up and her demeanor instantly changed. "Oh, so you're Nolan’s mother! Well, it's a good thing you're here because I actually wanted to discuss some matters with Nolan today."

Aline was curious. "What could a young thing like you possibly have to discuss with my Nolan?” And she called him so familiarly — Aline didn't know her son had a young girl so close to him.

In fact, Nolan himself didn't quite grasp how Madeline could be so chummy with him. She calling him by his first name made him quite uncomfortable.

Just by that alone, you should see who she truly is. You won't be happy with her, Nolan. I can't just stand by and watch you walk into a marital trap! Please, reconsider marrying her, for the sake of your future happiness."

In the background, Aline's frown deepened. She clearly didn't approve of Madeline's behavior. She said, "Regardless, Regina is your sister. It's not right to speak ill of her and your future brother-in-law behind their backs. If I were you, I'd leave this office right now and be as if none of this ever happened."

Nolan looked at his mother in surprise. It was the first time he heard his mom speak with such sternness to someone else. It seemed she really disapproved of Madeline's tactics.
