The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2865

He continued, “I'm actually helping you out here, so don't bite the hand that feeds you. Just look at him. If he had even the slightest bit of affection for you, he wouldn't have said stuff like 'don't get your hopes up for anything else.'

You just wait. Forget about a fancy wedding. If he pulls together a marriage certificate to announce that you're the new daughter-in-law of the Harris family, you should count your blessings. So, don't get all hot under the collar with me here."

Regina was so furious that she burst out laughing, "The whole marriage deal was us strong-arming the Harris family into it from the get-go. No wedding? That's a given, isn't it?

I'm not his cup of tea, so why the heck would he throw a wedding for me? And drop the whole certificate thing, will you? I don't even know how to face him now. All this mess? Thanks to you, Dad. You're a real peach."

Regina slumped into the chair and seemed so defeated. She truly had no clue where her life was headed anymore.

Since leaving the hospital, it all seemed like a bad dream in which not a single session was her wishful one.

She had finally snagged the evidence she thought would clear the air with Nolan and erase the chaos between them, but it turned out to be a wild goose chase.

Or maybe she should never have met him in the first place?

Gazing out the window, Regina sighed. To Nolan, never having met her would've been the best scenario. She wondered if he regretted it now.

The wedding was hastily set, and within days, Nolan had unilaterally asked Regina for her personal details.

Regina, knowing she was at fault, always tiptoed around Nolan afterward. Unsure why he needed her details, she decided to call and ask. Even though she knew he didn't want to hear her voice, this was her only shot at any interaction with him.

"Hello?"
