The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 2886

"Who do you think you're fooling, playing the saint? Is this the act you put on to snare Nolan in the first place? Let me tell you, he might be clueless, but I see right through you. Stop pretending with me. You're just jealous, aren't you?

I've known him for years. And you? You've been around for what, a few months? You don't know a thing about him. What gives you the right to be with him? You're not even in his league!"

Nolan stepped in sharply, "Dahlia, she's my wife, and I won't allow you to speak to her that way."

His brow was furrowed, his demeanor stern, which brought tears streaming down Dahlia's face. "You've never been harsh with me before, and now you're yelling at me for her? Oh, my head is pounding. Call the doctor, quick!"

Regina, flustered by Dahlia's apparent discomfort, stammered, "Nolan, she..."

"Go get the doctor now, and don't panic," he instructed calmly.

Regina hurried out after pressing the call button, summoning the nurse, who arrived swiftly. After a quick check that revealed no bleeding at the wound site, the nurse chided them both, "The patient needs rest and minimal emotional stress. Whatever your issues are, they can wait until she's more stable. We have other patients to attend to; we can't devote all our time to you two."

Regina apologized profusely, "I'm so sorry. It wasn't intentional, and we'll make sure it doesn't happen again. Please, go attend to your other duties."

Dahlia kept silent, her earlier claim of dizziness a ploy to gain the upper hand with the couple. After the scolding, she didn't make a peep.

But admitting that Nolan and Regina were married was still a bitter pill for her to swallow.
