The Lawyer’s Romance in Law novel Chapter 240

Chapter 240 I Don't Love or Want You

"Alright, hurry up and shower before bed," Amanda told Aiden.

"Okay," he replied.

She ruthlessly closed the door later to sever the eye contact between the father and son.

"Mommy, why are you being so cold to Daddy?" Aiden looked up at her with an unhappy face.

Amanda was speechless. If this little brat knows what Elias said in the garage, will he still adore him so much?

She felt unable to express them and only kept them to herself. "Stop your chitchat. Just shower and sleep."

"Mommy, you're so mean. Please be gentle."

She snorted lightly. "I'm almost driven crazy by you, and you talk about being gentle. Why don't you teach me how to be gentle?"

Suddenly, she noticed that this little brat was becoming more similar to Elias and resembling him in some ways. It's strange how he's growing up to be less like me, despite having many similarities when he was younger.

Yacob drove Stephanie out to the outskirts, where a sense of desolation hung in the air and created an eerie atmosphere.

"What's the purpose of bringing me here? Is Crisp around?" she questioned.

"You'll find out soon," he responded. His interest in conversation waned because bragging about Elias had left him thirsty.

A few minutes later, a car approached slowly; it was none other than Elias in the driver's seat. He honked twice to signal Yacob. Sensing the cue, Yacob started his car and trailed behind.

"Who's that? Elias?" Stephanie asked.

"Yes, indeed, it's Mr. Winters. Your beloved Crisp is held captive in a place known solely to him. I'm clueless about its whereabouts, hence the need for him to lead the way," he elaborated.

She could not help but furrow her brows. What's with all the mystery?

Thus, Yacob followed the vehicle ahead when he drove. After a lengthy journey, they finally arrived at an abandoned factory, the car coming to a halt.

Elias swung open the car door and stepped out to make his way toward the factory.

Stephanie walked along the bumpy road in her high heels. She almost tripped and had to grab Yacob's arm for support. However, he seemed reluctant since he was wearing an unpleasant expression.

"What's with that look? Me holding onto your arm should be your honor!" She could not stand someone looking at her with such a face.

He remained silent.

Soon, she quickened her pace to catch up to Elias and grabbed his arm. "Is Crisp here? Why did you bring me to this place?"

Elias' countenance turned cold as he guided her inside the factory. "I brought him here. Not even your father knows about this."

"What? Why'd you do that?" she questioned.
