Chapter 296 He Has A Strong Premonition.
Amanda snorted coldly. “There is no proof for whatever you have said. Why don’t we put it. in writing?”
“So professional, eh?” Taylor raised his eyebrows slightly.
“Of course. Otherwise, how would I dare to trust someone like you?”
Taylor was speechless as he had always considered himself someone with integrity. Someone like me? What kind of person am I?
In the study, Amanda took a pen and flicked the paper to quickly write a note before she signed her name. Then, she passed the same paper to Taylor.
“To show your sincerity, sign it. Here’s to a happy cooperation.”
Taylor took the document and scanned through it before he smiled. “This is as expected of a lawyer. You’re professional enough. Okay, then.”
He took the pen and signed his name as well.
“Let’s have a happy cooperation,” Amanda said as she took the document and stored it away. with the intention of leaving.
aggravate her consequences since
Taylor, however, stopped her. “Don’t be too obvious in front of Rosie, and don’t too much. If she becomes insane, I’m worried that she can’t endure the we don’t know what she will do.”
“I know, but… Forget it. Let’s talk about this later.” Amanda wanted to say something to him, but she held herself back when she was about to speak because it was pointless now.
If it could be proven that Rosie was not insane, then she would definitely point some things. out to him.
Over at St. Helen, the dean of the sanatorium was on the phone, reporting the situation to Taylor.
your
“Mr. Momsey, Mr. Winters came to look for a lady named Amanda Bailey. I followed. instructions and told him that I had not seen her, but he came again today. What should I do? They want to check the surveillance too. I told them that it was broken yesterday, but they don’t seem to believe me-”
Before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Taylor, who replied coldly, “Alright. I got it. If they want to check the surveillance, then let them do so. Just delete the surveillance footage that has Amanda and me in them.”
“Mr. Momsey, what if they continue their investigation at the sanatorium?”
After all, there were many secrets at the place. If Elias managed to uncover all of it, the consequences would be disastrous.
“I know what to do. Even if he finds out, it’s alright.”
“Okay, then…”
The dean ended the call and sighed helplessly.
The director was still by the side, waiting for an answer. “What do we do now? Mr. Winters wants to see the surveillance. Is Mr. Momsey willing to let him see it or not?”
“Let them see it. Even if they have discovered something, so what? By then, let that Taylor kid know the truth. If he’s not afraid, then we shouldn’t be either.”
“Okay.”
Over at the surveillance room, Elias and Yacob watched the surveillance footage carefully, but they couldn’t see any picture that showed Amanda whatsoever.
“How is this possible? Miss Bailey came here after receiving the address from Dr. Smith. Why isn’t there any sign of her in the footage?” Yacob was puzzled.
Elias had been keeping an eye on the time in the upper left corner of the footage and found that there was a discrepancy of an hour.
And SO, he commented in a deep voice, “Why is there an hour missing from the footage? Is this footage edited by your dean?”
As soon as he said those words, there was silence as no one dared to speak up.
Only then did Yacob notice the discrepancy of time on the footage, as it was suddenly an
hour later.
“Say something! Did your dean edit the footage?” Yacob slapped the monitor on the back.
“I… I am not sure. They said that it was shut down for maintenance, and that’s it. I have not clue, so I think you should ask the dean yourself.”
Elias could also tell that there was nothing to ask the folks in the surveillance room, so he had to personally visit the dean’s office.
As such, he turned and left the surveillance room with Yacob in tow.
While they were walking toward the dean’s office and passed by those words, they thought. they heard sounds of ghosts crying and wolf howling inside, which attracted their attention.
Elias frowned because he felt that there was more to this sanatorium than met the
eye.
Yacob made a bold guess. “Mr. Winters, this place looks mysterious. The people locked up here are all lunatics, so do you think they are conducting human experiments?”
“Mind your own business,” came the man’s reply as he walked directly toward the dean’s office.
At the same time….
The dean was calling Taylor to report on the recent updates in his office, but Taylor only said. “Tell the truth.”
After that, Taylor hung up the phone on him. The dean stared at the phone with a dull expression, having no idea how to answer.
There was also a knock on the door at the same time, which pulled the dean back to the present.
He set the phone aside and said in the direction of the door, “Come in.”
Elias and Yacob entered, which caused the dean to gulp. After all, Taylor and Elias were the two bosses whom he did not dare to mess with because either one of them could send him to his grave.
“You should know what I want to ask,” Elias said..
