The Lord Mayor Falls in Love with Me novel Chapter 368

Martha nodded and said, "I understand. Thanks for telling me, and don't worry, I will try to inform Lawrence that we are not related in another way. I won't let Allen get distracted by the things between me and him. Thank you so much for doing this. In the past… I always treated you indifferently, but now you give me the last hope in my life. I don't know how I can ever repay you. Anyway, if you need any help, just call me. I will be there anytime and get anything for you."

Martha became excited generally and his voice thrilled when speaking the last few words.

Joey smiled and said, "I'm not doing this for return, girl. Stop talking about this, or I will get angry."

Joey knew that she was genuine when speaking about that. Some girls like her might look rebellious and mean, but they knew whom they should love or hate clearly. Once they found someone or something they believed in, they would do everything for it, which was way better than what those girls who looked kind and innocent would do.

Suddenly, they noticed some loud noises were coming from outside the box. From the noises, Joey distinguished the piercing voice of Paige, like she was swearing at somebody.

Martha heard that as well, and was about to get out of the box.

"Wait!"

Joey stopped her hurriedly and said, "She will find you if your mom was still here. Let me out and take a look."

"Fine!"

Martha nodded. Just like Paige keeping her from the truth, she didn't want Paige to know she had already known the truth. So, it was a good choice to avoid her.
