"Was it really her? Why did she do that?" Isis cried out in disbelief. Although she had never had a good impression of Alyssa, she knew that Alyssa loved Rocky very much. So she could not believe that Alyssa had sided with Alston against them and even killed her father. She was undoubtedly having a hard time believing them.
"Isis, calm down. Basil will handle it," Marcia comforted her. She was worried that Isis would do something stupid impulsively.
"Is it because you killed Woods?" Isis' voice was hoarse and shaky, as her eyes flicked up toward Rocky's expressionless face. She was smart enough that she quickly figured out the reason.
Rocky didn't admit it, but he didn't deny it either.
"So she set my father up just for revenge against you," Isis sneered and looked at Rocky with disdain. Although she knew it was not Rocky's fault, she still thought that Rocky was responsible for her father's death.
Sabina and Lucilla could not help glancing at Rocky when they heard Isis' accusation. They didn't expect that Lance died because of him.
"Isis, it's not Basil's fault. You know he had no choice," Marcia explained, consoling Isis incessantly. A part of her was greatly worried that Isis would hate Rocky for this.
"I know it's not his fault. And I won't blame him, but I won't forgive Alyssa. From now on, I will be in charge of the West United Army," Isis declared with a fiercely determined look on her face.
"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you're not fit to lead the army in your condition." Marcia's gentle expression earlier had been completely replaced by a somber look. She could tell that Isis would avenge her father's murder at all costs, and that was exactly what Alyssa wanted.
Isis was one of Rocky's weaknesses. Rocky would never stand idly by if something happened to her, so Marcia knew that if Isis led the army, she would probably fall into Alyssa's trap, bringing Rocky down with her. And Rocky was Alyssa's ultimate goal.
"Do you think I'm not qualified? I'm a soldier. I know what I'm doing," Isis said as she smiled coldly. In the blink of an eye, she had regained her usual arrogance.
Marcia didn't say anything more, for it was evident that Isis had made up her mind. She looked at Rocky, waiting for his decision.
At the same time, Isis also looked at Rocky with pleading eyes.
Rocky stared back at her blankly. He had mixed feelings because he knew that if Isis led the West United Army, Alyssa's plan would be satisfied. She would definitely deal with Isis and the West United Army with all her might. However, he also knew that Isis had a strong desire for revenge, so even if he stopped her, she would still do it. On top of that, half of the West United Army's soldiers were from the Crimson Dragon Group. If Isis called on them to help her, they would follow her without hesitation, which would definitely cause a considerable stir. Therefore, he had no choice but to let Isis lead the West United Army.
"Fine. You can lead the West United Army, but you have to promise me one thing," Rocky said after careful consideration.
"What is it?" Isis replied coldly.
"Always remember Nigel is waiting for you before fighting with Alyssa," Rocky said.
His words were like a bucket of ice that shocked Isis back to reality. She couldn't help but tremble, because Rocky was reminding her not to be blinded by her need for revenge. He had reminded her to not only fight for what she lost but also for what she still had—her son, who had only recently learned to walk. He was telling her not to risk her life needlessly.
