Uriel was known as the youngest elder in the entire Sword Spirit Sect. He was very talented and was just a step away from cultivating and brewing the Imperial Soul. Of course, back in his days, he was also one of the successful members who had obtained a martial spirit from the Martial Spirit Graveyard.
After hearing his instructions, everyone nodded in agreement.
"Miguel, the three of you should try your best not to make any unnecessary movements. Save your energy and be prepared when you have to merge with the martial spirit. After all, it's going to be hard to say who it will recognize as its master," Uriel strictly told Miguel.
"Yes, sir. I understand," Miguel replied, cupping his hands towards the elder. He quickly cast a glance towards Rocky while showing a hint of gloom on his face.
Soon enough, their team headed directly for the Heavenly Ravine Valley.
The Martial Spirit Graveyard was actually located in the depths of the valley. Within this area, there were many natural-born spiritual beasts, but most of them were difficult to capture. Moreover, these beasts usually moved in groups, so a lot of effort and great strength would be needed just to capture one of them. Besides, the Sword Spirit Sect had an ancestral doctrine, stating that its members were prohibited from capturing the spiritual beasts in the valley without permission. The main reason for that was because the valley functioned as a natural barrier to protect the Martial Spirit Graveyard in case intruders would try to sneak in.
About half a day later, the team walked out of a jungle and entered a desert-like area. Although the area looked pretty much desolate, it gave off an ominous atmosphere. The rocks were rugged, and there were huge snake-like beast shadows moving just beneath the ground. Furthermore, there were several beast bones scattered all around, indicating the presence of powerful and savage creatures.
"Everyone, this is a very dangerous area. Be careful and observe your surroundings!" Uriel briefly turned to the team members and warned them.
However, even before his voice faded, the ground beneath his feet began to tremble, and it gradually grew more violent as if a massive earthquake was about to ensue.
"Watch out! It’s coming from under us!" Uriel shouted as he sensed a vicious spiritual aura was coming from beneath the ground.
At the same time, Rocky pulled Tessa and Ramon to quickly retreat a few steps back.
Boom!
A moment later, just below the ground where they stood, a huge sand-formed column drilled out and soared into the sky. Then, a beast shadow that looked like a giant centipede emerged before them. It had a long tail that looked like a scorpion’s and it instantly waved in the air, sweeping directly towards them. It emitted a wave of spiritual power that turned into sharp energy that tried to pour on them. From what they perceived, its savage aura that immediately filled the surroundings should be at the low level of the King Realm.
Seeing that the spiritual beast that suddenly attacked them was at the King Realm, Uriel shook his head lightly and wore a serious expression. He never expected that they would have such bad luck before they could even reach the graveyard. Although there were indeed many spiritual beasts at this level in the valley, they only usually appeared at the depths of the valley.
With Uriel’s strength, dealing with a spiritual beast at the level of the King Realm shouldn’t be a tough task. However, he would not be able to move that freely since he had to protect his companions before he could focus on the beast. So, he quickly unleashed his spiritual power to form a spiritual shield that would protect the rest of the group.
With this, the heavy strikes of the centipede-like spiritual beast were blocked off by the elder’s spiritual shield. The problem was that when the beast saw this, it might have been pissed off, so it directly rushed towards the spiritual shield and used its humongous body to smack it.
Because of this, the spiritual shield received a huge impact and shook wildly. Although Uriel was indeed very powerful, the strength of a spiritual beast at the King Realm was usually stronger than spirit warriors at the same realm. Therefore, it was common knowledge that even warriors at the King Realm would often avoid confronting spiritual beasts at the King Realm whenever they spotted one.
Under the intense rampaging of the spiritual beast, it was obvious that the spiritual shield wouldn't hold out for long.
"This centipede is widely known for its magnanimous strength. I didn’t expect that this would be the one to appear here. I assume that a natural ethereal crystal should have been formed within its body." For a while, Uriel thought of a plan on how they should deal with the beast. Then, he turned towards Rocky and the rest of the team and said, "In addition to these three disciples, the rest of the warriors at the King Realm will join hands to kill this centipede together. Consider this task to be a part of your training. Don’t worry. I have you covered. Lastly, whoever inflicts the final strike and kill the beast for good shall get the ethereal crystal in its body."
