The Medallion novel Chapter 1456

'Humph, this guy has guts. But I believe he won't be able to come back alive. If so, I don't even need to kill him by myself!' With those thoughts in mind, Miguel sneered slyly.

In the spiritual fog, Rocky was unable to discern his bearings and was forced into a dead end by the martial spirits chasing after him.

Just as Rocky was about to hide in his Magic Spiritual Space for a moment, he suddenly sensed a strange aura behind him. It felt like something was summoning him.

'There seems to be something behind me,' he mused. A huge flat rock wall as smooth as jade met his eyes when he turned to look. After a moment's hesitation, he headed towards it. Just a moment later, he discovered that his body passed through the rock wall. Instead of being real, the rock wall felt more like a phantom. After he took a couple more steps, the scene in front of his eyes turned into utter darkness.

"So a mysterious place like this exists in the Martial Spirit Graveyard." Rocky was in high spirits. After he entered the rock wall, the martial spirits stopped chasing him.

When he surveyed his surroundings, he discovered a ray of red light dimly shining not too far away in front of him, so he couldn't help but approach it in the hopes of understanding his current situation. After he stepped closer towards the light, he discovered that it came from a headless corpse wearing an ice blue armor covered in dust, a huge sword made from unknown material was thrust on the ground beside it. Although the corpse was incomplete, there was no sign of decay even though it seemed to have been there for a long time. Moreover, there was a distinctive red jade hanging on the corpse's chest.

"The corpse is hidden in such a secret place and hasn't rotted yet. I wonder why." Rocky considered it for a moment before he reached out to take off the red jade on the chest of the corpse.

The moment the red jade was removed, the headless corpse instantly turned into ash.

"Oh, no! I'm so sorry!" Rocky quickly apologized, putting his palms together. Although he gave it some thought, he didn't expect that the reason the headless corpse didn't decay was because of the red jade.

Meanwhile, the red jade suddenly lit up and instantly turned into a fiery red soul shadow wearing a piece of tiger-shaped ice armor. A huge sword was strapped on its back. Although it looked mighty, it did not have a head.

"My successor, you're finally here!" A deep and low voice rumbled out of the headless soul shadow and each word echoed around Rocky.

"Hey, wait, did you just say that I'm your successor? This is exactly the same as when I met the Dragon-shaped Soul Beast before. Why do I become a successor wherever I go?" Rocky was at a loss whether to cry or to laugh, because the scene really was similar to his experience when he met the Dragon-shaped Soul Beast in the past.

"This Scarlet Heaven Jade contains all my strength. Since you obtained it, it means that you'll inherit my strength and become my successor. You have only one mission! Regain the throne of the Shura Race for me!" the headless soul shadow declared.

"The throne of the Shura Race?" Upon hearing those words, Rocky became interested. He then added, "Sir, would you please tell me who you are..."

Before Rocky could even finish his question, the headless soul shadow suddenly rushed into his body.

The next moment, dizziness overtook Rocky and his body felt like it was being torn apart. Vague images appeared in his mind, and it felt like grasping incomplete memories. They were mere fragments of memories. However, he saw a woman very similar to Marcia in the memories, and she seemed to have something to do with the history of the Shura Race.
