The Medallion novel Chapter 1561

"The troop of the spiritual race is far more powerful than we are, and it's not possible for us to break out of the prison using force. Therefore, our only chance is to make a feint to the east by creating a diversion in the west. Once they are distracted, we will take the opportunity to escape!" Rocky explained in a low voice.

"We're going to make a feint to the east but attack in the west? Are you kidding, Spiritual King Basil? How do you plan on doing all of this?" Deputy Commander Ma said. His face darkened because it sounded like Rocky was just joking.

"There's no need to worry. I've figured all of this out. Now, let's choose the route that we will use to retreat," Rocky replied, turning and drawing a simple topographic map on the ground that included what he could remember from his journey.

"The troop of the spiritual race used the precipice to the west of the Crescent Gorge and this cluster of rocks to set up this camp. With the way that the terrain is laid out, it makes it easy to defend and difficult to attack. So if we can escape from the camp, it will not be easy for them to catch up to us, especially under the dark of night."

"But with so many people fleeing at once, it will be easy to pursue us," Eunice worried aloud.

"Yes. That's why we have to divide into three groups. One will be led by Deputy Commander Ma and they will go to the south. One will be led by you and they will go to the east. The rest will be led by Kye and will go to the north. Once we lose the pursuers, all three groups will meet at this place!" Rocky said, pointing at a position on the topographic map.

"What about you, Rocky?" Eunice asked, furrowing her eyebrows at the seemingly gaping hole in his plan.

"I'll stay here to cover for you in case you need to retreat," Rocky replied.

"What? You are going to cover for us by yourself? It's too dangerous," Deputy Commander Ma said. Some admiration still poured over him because he hadn't pegged Rocky for the type to sacrifice himself to cover for someone else.

"Yes, it's too risky. I will stay with you," Eunice said immediately.

"I can do it alone. Besides, if you stay, who will lead the second group?" Rocky shook his head and narrowed his eyes.

"But..." Eunice wanted to say something more, but was immediately stopped by Rocky waving his hand.

"We don't have a lot of time to do this. We will take action tonight. A fire will be your signal. That's my job. When you see it in the camp, prepare to break out," Rocky said.

After a brief exchange of looks, Eunice and Deputy Commander Ma nodded in agreement. They had no choice but to agree. After all, they couldn't come up with better escape plans.

"Great. I'll begin now." The moment that Rocky finished speaking, he started activating the Earth-diving Skill that he had learned from a martial spirit in the Scarlet Heaven Jade a few days ago.

Suddenly, he leapt into the air and dove into the ground, disappearing like a mole tunneling beneath the earth.

"Let's start making preparations too!" Deputy Commander Ma said.

Eunice nodded slightly, but she couldn't erase the worry from her eyes. Within seconds, she pulled herself together and began gathering everyone to prepare them for the escape.

Soon, Rocky popped up from the ground on the west side of the camp, also known as the deepest part of the camp. The area was used as the grain warehouse for the spiritual race army. Since the west side was built on a precipice, they didn't need to worry about being attacked and they believed that their grain warehouse would be safe. As he approached, Rocky saw that the soldiers that were guarding the grain warehouse were asleep on the side.

Without saying a word, Rocky waved his hand and pushed a brazier closer to the grain warehouse. The brazier fell on the ground, causing a small explosion. The grain warehouse was instantly ignited.
