"I'm not completely sure, but I can give it a shot," Rocky replied.
"Is there anything I can do to help you?" Commander Ling asked.
"Please gather all the spirit warriors under your command. I'm going to need their help!" Rocky responded quickly.
"No problem." Commander Ling nodded immediately. At the moment, he was regarding Rocky as a life-saving straw. Although it seemed idiotic for a commander of a troop to blindly pin their hopes on one person, there was nothing else he could do now. Since he didn't want to lose the front line of the western region, he could only place his hopes on Rocky.
"As for the rest of the soldiers, please make them retreat from their current position to a place at least one mile away from the river and prepare an ambush. If I succeed, you can launch a surprise attack and completely annihilate all the soldiers of the spiritual race who would be desperate to come ashore. If I fail, your soldiers will at least remain safe and sound. You will still be able to stage a counterattack in the future!" Rocky carefully laid out his plans.
"Are you really telling us to retreat?" Commander Ling certainly didn't want to show an act of cowardice like that. If he did, there was no doubt that he would be a laughingstock among the other commanders in the future.
"Commander Ling, if you believe in me, do as I say. You've suffered a great loss before. If you still want to repeat the same mistake twice, I will no longer meddle in this matter," Rocky said seriously. If Commander Ling hadn't allowed the deputy commander to mess around, the current situation would not be like that.
"Well then, I'll lead the army to retreat about a mile south of the position to prepare an ambush while waiting for further orders. If you succeed, I'll lead the army to launch a surprise attack and kill the enemy troops." Commander Ling finally compromised after a long moment.
Satisfied with his answer, Rocky nodded and walked out of the camp.
"What are you three still doing here? Get ready immediately!" Commander Ling shouted at the three deputy commanders.
Of course, the three deputy commanders quickly left the camp. All three of them felt dejected.
Not long after, the spiritual warrior that Rocky asked for were gathered, while the rest of the soldiers were led by Commander Ling to retreat from the position.
Barely an hour had passed and Rocky was already leading the armed team of spirit warriors to the bank of the Mochy River.
Every inch of the area along their side of the river had been occupied by the giant spiritual toad beasts. They were lined up in a row and made the place within a hundred meters a dangerous area. At the moment, it looked more like the stronghold of the beasts than a riverbank.
"Listen up, I'll lead a few beasts towards this place later. You all better be ready. After I inject them with medicinal liquid, they'll temporarily lose their ability to attack. Listen to my orders carefully and tie them up later. Do you understand?" Rocky said, turning to look at the gathered spirit warriors.
Now that there were too many beasts, it was impossible for Rocky to be able to inject the medicinal liquid into them all at once. In order to finish his job using the least amount of time possible, he would have to inject them with the medicinal liquid in batches.
All the spirit warriors nodded their heads when they heard his instructions, and then Rocky quickly went straight towards the giant spiritual toad beasts.
At the same moment, the girl from the spiritual race who was controlling the beasts was sitting on a stone on the riverbank, waiting for the troops of the spiritual race to cross the river. It wasn't long before she sensed the approaching aura. When she turned around, her eyes immediately landed on Rocky. Her beautiful eyes widened as she said, "It's you again. How dare you show up once more? Do you really want to die that badly?"
"Little girl, you're no longer young, but you still have a violent temper," Rocky responded, his lips pulling into a mocking smile.
"Cut the crap. I won't let you get out of this place alive today," the girl shouted. Not even a moment later, about eight beasts rushed towards Rocky.
When Rocky saw the stampeding beasts rushing towards him, he immediately turned around and flew away.
