"Despite his power, Tobias was too arrogant. It's a terrible idea to fight on the battlefield with such an ego, which is why he died at my hands. He deserved it," Vivian said proudly.
"Now that Tobias is dead, the people of the Primitive Fief ought to watch out and behave themselves!" Valeria exclaimed with a snort.
"I don't think so. But in such a short period, they wouldn't dare think it's easy to ruffle our feathers." Rocky shook his head. They slaughtered a Spiritual Emperor of the Primitive Fief. The fief's people would never let this go easily but they would never dare to act so abruptly either.
"Let's take a day off. We'll be on our way tomorrow!" Vivian ordered.
A few hours later, news spread to the guard team of the Primitive Fief that Vivian killed Tobias. They were near the area where the Nether Dragon King's lair was stationed.
"What? Tobias was murdered by Vivian?" This news shocked all of the Spiritual Emperors of the Primitive Fief.
Tobias' strength was only second to that of Israel and another high-level Spiritual Emperor in the team. He was one of their most powerful fighters, so the news of him being killed so easily was quite unexpected.
"Considering his strength, Tobias would be too difficult to kill for an ordinary warrior. He must have underestimated his enemy!" Israel's face darkened at the revelation. The overall strength of his guards was certainly reduced now that Tobias was dead. Fortunately, they were already near the lair of the Nether Dragon King, so their progress wouldn't be greatly affected. Still, this was a huge loss for the Primitive Fief.
"These bastards have gone too far. How dare they hurt our people?"
"That's right. We can't tolerate this anymore. I'm willing to lead a group and kill them once and for all!"
"If this news spreads, the others will think the Primitive Fief are all cowards who can't defend themselves!"
The Spiritual Emperors of the Primitive Fief were greatly displeased and utterly enraged.
"Everyone, calm down. We will undoubtedly have our vengeance. But right now, we're getting closer to the Nether Dragon King's lair. As long as we stay on course and reach it, your mission will be complete. By then, I won't stop any of you from seeking vengeance. But we must guarantee our safe and smooth arrival at the lair first," Israel declared, reminding them all that their mission was the top priority.
"Yes, you're right." None of the Spiritual Emperors dared to object.
Meanwhile, the other two guard teams that were also trying to get closer to the Nether Dragon King's lair received news of Tobias' death as well.
At the camp of the Purgatory Fief's team, a Spiritual Emperor returned and reported Tobias' demise. The Godly Genius of the Purgatory Fief was an eighteen-year-old boy named Quentin.
He was the nephew of the Purgatory Fief's leader. Despite his young age, he was especially talented even when he was a kid. Not only was he an expert at summoning demons but he was also quite meticulous and extremely intelligent. In fact, he was so intelligent that he was thought to be the smartest one among all the nine Godly Geniuses.
"Interesting, isn't it? I didn't expect the Primitive Fief to lose a Spiritual Emperor at the premium stage so easily," Quentin brought up with a mocking laugh.
"If the Ghost Fief and the Primitive Fief continue to fight like this, it will be to our advantage," a Spiritual Emperor shared with a sinister smile plastered across his face.
"It's not that simple. Israel may look careless, but he is very cautious. He must have thought of the situation you just mentioned, so he'll certainly make a move against the Ghost Fief once the latter arrives at the Nether Dragon King's lair. Since the guard team can't interfere with taming the Nether Dragon King, this is a job that should be left solely to a Godly Genius. By then, the guard team's duty will be to stop any other team that tries to get close to the lair," Quentin explained with a wave of his hand.
"Then we don't stand a chance, do we?"
"That's not necessarily the case. Entering the Nether Dragon King's lair is no easy feat. But the person who manages to achieve occupying the entrance to the lair will secure the upper hand," Quentin added. A hint of deviousness could be seen in his eyes.
