"You want a secret alliance between us and the Genie Fief? I don't think that will be easy. I'm sure the Flower Fief will oppose this idea," Gilbert said.
"We can't let the Flower Fief know about it. This secret alliance between us and the Genie Fief will just be between us," Rocky corrected.
"Are you saying that you want to take advantage of the power of the two fiefs at the same time?" Gilbert asked in surprise.
"Yes. After all, only a single person will stand at the end of this battle among the Godly Geniuses. All of these alliances are just temporary. Sooner or later, whether it is the Flower Fief or the Genie Fief, they shall become our enemies. But for now, if we can take advantage of these alliances to the fullest, we will have better chances of winning. If we stay in the middle, we can let them deal with each other first. Then, when both sides are already hurt and exhausted, that's when we will strike," Rocky explained as he analyzed the situation.
"That is actually a good strategy. You are thinking too far ahead," Gilbert remarked in surprise. He did not expect that Rocky would be this serious and smart in using his foresight.
"However, I know that this plan is too risky. First of all, we have to make sure that Leader Adrian agrees to it. Second, we have to be very careful in hiding it from the Flower Fief," Rocky warned.
"You are right. Now that Adrian comes to us, the Flower Fief will be on guard. I suspect that Elder Leticia may come to speak with me soon," Gilbert replied.
"Hence, our only option is to put on an act," Rocky said with a cunning smile.
"An act? What do you mean?"
Then, Rocky walked towards Gilbert and whispered his plan in his ear. Gilbert's eyes instantly lit up and widened as he stared back at Rocky. He was taken aback that Rocky would be able to come up with such a brilliant idea.
"So, who's going to talk to Adrian?" Gilbert asked right away.
"After this, I'm actually going to meet both Leader Adrian and Godly Genius Gloria. Don't worry. You can leave it to me," Rocky assured.
"I see. Good luck then. If this plan works smoothly, the advantages will easily outweigh the disadvantages," Gilbert said in a hopeful tone.
Rocky just nodded and eventually left the hall to proceed to where Adrian and his daughter were currently staying.
Meanwhile, Adrian and Gloria had finally arrived at the guest hall. Adrian was so pissed off that he pounded the table and said, "The Godly Genius of the Ghost Fief is such a sly brat. How dare he make a demand like that? Who does he think he is?"
"Father, you don't have to be so angry. For him to be able to think of such a scheme just proves that he is not ordinary," Gloria said as she tried to appease her father.
"Well, you are right. At first glance, there really is nothing outstanding about him. But I can't believe how fast he was able to find a loophole in what we said. Then, he readily used it against us. It's such a pity that he is the Godly Genius of the Ghost Fief. If he was one of us, I could use his incredible talent to the fullest." Adrian had always been fond of people with lots of potentials. Although Rocky had just outsmarted and embarrassed him, he still could not help but admire the young man.
"Father, what do you think of his demand?" Gloria asked straightforwardly, wanting to know what was on her father's mind.
"Of course, there's no way that I'd agree to his condition. However, we also can't leave just like this. If others know what happened, it will be very shameful for us!" Adrian exclaimed as he let out a frown.
"All right. Maybe I should talk to him in private." Gloria thought that at this point, the best way to resolve this was to personally talk to Rocky. After all, the two of them already had a secret alliance.
However, before she could leave the hall, a member of the Ghost Fief came in and reported, "Excuse me, Leader Adrian. Our Godly Genius wants to see you."
"Okay. Let him in." Upon hearing that Rocky was there to meet with her father, Gloria immediately asked to bring him in.
Soon enough, Rocky entered the guest hall, where he saw Adrian and Gloria.
"Sir, please forgive me for offending you earlier!" Rocky cupped his hands and offered a sincere apology to Adrian the moment he got in.
"Humph! Really? When did you offend me?" Adrian snorted coldly and let out a sarcastic remark.
"I know that I made such a ridiculous condition, but in fact, I only did that to have a perfect cover-up," Rocky said as he tried to convince Adrian.
