Soon, the golden runes that encircled them began to fly and make their way towards the competitors' field. They intertwined with each other like golden rivers floating and shuffling among the Spiritual Emperors.

As they remained in place, they began to feel strange. Some heard a strange buzz in their ears, a few of them experienced blurred images flashing before their eyes, and the rest felt the spiritual power within them disappear in an instant.

These runes were impacting each Spiritual Emperor on the field differently.

A few of the Spiritual Emperors were able to detect and hear certain mantras a few moments later. However, most of them were incomplete. None of them dared to try and chant them out loud for fear of worsening their situation.

Most of the Spiritual Emperors chose to wait it out and see what would happen next.

But Rocky was different. He quickly completed the intermittent mantra in his mind and began to manipulate the spiritual power within him using it.

The spiritual power in his body began to rise and speed up.

Suddenly, vivid images of the previous world he lived in flashed through Rocky's mind. He saw his past with Isis, Marcia, and Alyssa. Emotions that he had buried deep within suddenly burst out like an overflowing dam.

Except for Rocky, the ten high-level Spiritual Emperors were also trying to figure out and complete the mantras they had heard to control their spiritual powers. So did some middle-level Spiritual Emperors and some extraordinary low-level Spiritual Emperors like Michelle, Moore, and Seth.

As soon as most of them became more familiar with using the mantras, they began to show different states.

This meant they began to fully comprehend what they heard.

By then, Colton had slowly descended from the top of the first floor and weaved his way between the Spiritual Emperors to observe their states. During the process of comprehension, it was easy to spiral into madness. He needed to stop it once he detected its early signs in any of the competitors. Otherwise, there would be unimaginable consequences.

Soon, more and more Spiritual Emperors from both the middle-level and the low-level began to take their shot at the comprehension task.

By then, these Spiritual Emperors were surrounded by a faint glow. This included Rocky, who began to comprehend the mantras at the very beginning of the test.

Everyone seemed to finally be making progress.

'What progress you've all accomplished in such a short time!' Colton thought to himself as he nodded in satisfaction.

In the Heavenly Library, the process of comprehension was divided into ten grades. Generally, one could be considered as having roughly comprehended a unique skill once he or she comprehended the first five grades. However, this was only the beginning. Once a contender completed the seventh grade, he or she would be considered to have accomplished a phenomenal feat. This assured the contender that full comprehension was obtained once all ten grades were completed.

But according to the Di Clan's past records, only seven Spiritual Emperors were able to comprehend all ten grades in the Heavenly Library since the dawn of ancient times. And only twenty Spiritual Emperors managed to reach and comprehend the seventh grade of the test.

Six hours later, the high-level Spiritual Emperors, some of the middle-level Spiritual Emperors, and the talented low-level Spiritual Emperors including Michelle were all able to reach the third grade of the test one after another.

To no one's surprise, Rocky was still standing as well.

Eight hours later, the bodies of several high-level Spiritual Emperors suddenly lit up like bright stars against the evening sky and were filled with joy.

"Chief Colton, I have comprehended a unique skill. The Heavenly Silkworm Skill!"

"I have comprehended one, too. The Six-meridians Finger!"

"Amazing! A Saber Slash!"

The high-level Spiritual Emperors couldn't help but shout and rejoice as they reported to the chief.
