"We've worked together before, but we still failed to defeat this diabolic beast," one of the Spiritual Emperors at the premium stage said with lingering fear.
"Before, we were but a few, so the diabolic beast had the upper hand. Now that we're many, we might just stand a chance!" Seth egged on.
"I agree. If we don't join forces, no one will be able to get in there," Michelle agreed immediately, nodding profusely.
"What if someone's just pretending to join hands, when they actually plan to take the first opportunity to get in there first?" Eunice questioned in a loud voice, shooting accusing looks at the likes of Michelle and Holden.
Hearing this, the other Spiritual Emperors hesitated. What Eunice said was true; they couldn't trust some of the people here.
Meanwhile, as they discussed among themselves, Rocky finally broke past the diabolic beast's defenses and entered its spiritual sense. However, even then he was still fiercely resisted.
The diabolic beast's resistance came in the form of memories. Rocky inadvertently received images of the diabolic beast's past, most of which were related to the Shura Race's sacred place.
'It seems it was imprisoned in the Holy Heaven Palace for some reason.' When this thought crossed his mind, Rocky tried to communicate with the diabolic beast using his spiritual sense. He simultaneously released the holy power of the Shura Race, hoping to let the diabolic beast feel the familiar aura.
It didn't take long before the diabolic beast's spiritual sense started to calm down, its resistance gradually ebbing away.
"Who are you?" An ancient and aged voice rang in Rocky's ears.
"I'm the Godly Genius of the Shura Race, the heir to the power of the former king of the Shura Race," Rocky responded.
"The Godly Genius? Heir to the power of the former king of the Shura Race? No wonder you have the holy power of the Shura Race's royal family." The voice sounded again.
"Why are you imprisoned here, sir?" Rocky asked not unkindly.
"I'm not imprisoned here. Actually, I'm here by my own will," the diabolic beast replied.
"What? Why?" Rocky was stunned.
"It's been a long time. Forget it! Since you are the heir of the Shura Race's king, you must be qualified to pass the test of the Myriad-tribulation Devil Den. I will let you in," the diabolic beast replied dismissively.
"Thank you very much, sir," Rocky said gratefully. "But I hope you can let me in along with the other Spiritual Emperors."
"No way. I'm the guardian here. This is my duty," the diabolic beast said firmly.
"Among the Spiritual Emperors I mentioned, there are other Godly Geniuses of the Shura Race. We came here after taking the test given by the gods. If we can't continue the test here, we can't complete the test of gods!" Rocky explained insistently.
The diabolic beast lapsed into thoughtful silence. Finally, it said, "Well, fine—but just this once. I won't do this again!"
"Thank you, sir," Rocky said gratefully, withdrawing his spiritual sense immediately.
After a lengthy discussion, the Spiritual Emperors finally decided to join forces to fight against the diabolic beast. They had arrived at the conclusion that only by working together did they have a fighting chance.
Just as the Spiritual Emperors were about to make a move, Rocky suddenly turned around and announced, "Listen, everyone, there's no need for you to join forces!"
All the Spiritual Emperors looked at Rocky with surprise. What on earth did he mean?
"If you don't want to fight along with us, just get out of our way!" Holden snapped impatiently, concluding Rocky was just there to get in the way of their efforts.
