As soon as Rocky regained his sight, he found himself in a scene that resembled the purgatory. In front of him was a pile of human skulls and bones that were arranged orderly as if they were sacrificial offerings.
The entire area emitted a strong evil presence which seemed to be from the remaining aura of the martial spirits. Consequently, Rocky felt depressed, sensing what the spirits had gone through.
While he was looking around, he could not find any stairs, so he did not know how he could advance to the upper floors. Moreover, he felt strange because he could not see any martial spirit around him, when in fact, he sensed them before entering the door that led to the Heavenly Demon Tower.
Not knowing what exactly was happening, Rocky consulted Corey's memories again. Then, he found out what was going on.
It turned out that at times, the warriors at the Shura Realm were permitted to enter the Heavenly Demon Tower, but only the first three floors were opened for them. Therefore, most of the martial spirits on the first three floors were already refined by the warriors who had visited before.
Afterward, he searched Corey's memories to find out how he could get to the second floor.
Upon acquiring the information that he needed, Rocky moved around the first floor according to what he saw in Corey's memories. Then, about an hour later, he arrived in front of a wall.
Based on the memories, this spot should be the entrance that would lead to the second floor.
'Hmm. It seems that I still need to use my spiritual power to reveal the door.' Rocky thought for a while and eventually released his spiritual power.
Sure enough, the moment he activated his spiritual power, the wall in front of him suddenly became distorted. Then, like a mouth of a giant beast, it opened wide and swallowed Rocky into it.
The moment Rocky reached the second floor, he felt a strong and violent aura rushing towards him. However, it seemed that it was not from martial spirits, but it was pure frightening resentment.
The force of this resentment was astonishing, probably because of the fact that too many strong warriors had died here, and their negative emotions had already become too dense. After many years of accumulating, it began to manifest and eventually became a terrifying force.
Shortly after, the whole second floor was filled with a green mist that Rocky was familiar with.
"Ghostly Corpse Miasma!" Having been Esteban's disciple for a long time, Rocky recognized that it was the Ghostly Corpse Miasma. He speculated that it was formed right after the Shura Realm masters died inside the tower. They began to condense while the corpses rotted in the demonic environment. It was a dangerous substance that would poison one's body until it decayed and died.
Knowing how hazardous it was, Rocky did not dare to be careless. He even considered if he needed to go back.
However, he also inferred that the whole second floor must be filled with this deadly miasma. Even if he went back, it would be useless.
Therefore, he decided to enter the palace, and then he asked the guardian for a body protection treasure that could withstand the Ghostly Corpse Miasma.
After obtaining the necessary treasure, he infused his spiritual power into it. Immediately after, the body protection treasure formed a round spherical shield of spiritual energy that served as a barrier.
Then, he started walking towards the green mist. In an instant, the Ghostly Corpse Miasma gushed towards him but was fended off by the protective barrier.
After walking on the floor for about five minutes, the Ghostly Corpse Miasma gradually subsided.
However, just as he thought that he could now breathe a sigh of relief, Rocky started encountering hidden traps all over the place. Fortunately, with his current strength, he could easily deal with them. But still, it took him quite a lot of time to get past them.
On his way to find the door to the third floor, he met several martial spirits, and he easily refine them.
Upon overcoming all of them, he eventually found the entrance to the third floor with the help of Corey's memories.
On the third floor, a large open space welcomed Rocky. However, on this huge space, he saw many human-shaped puppets that were obviously not meant for mere decorations. Moreover, the puppets had all kinds of strange martial arts postures, and they filled the entire third floor.
"What is this? A kind of array?" Without taking any rash action, Rocky searched for Corey's memories first. After all, he had a bad feeling about these puppets.
Sure enough, his guess was right. What he was seeing in front of him was a kind of a terrifying array that finished off many powerful Shura Realm masters before.
